Im listening to Bill Duffy on KTAR and he said that in the next few days the suns are going to be getting a center. He said that it will be someone that fits the mold (ie defense and no offense) and it will be 'shocking'. He said that he was talking to the suns today and they have someone in mind and something will happen in the next couple of weeks. He didnt give any names though. Does anyone know if Duffy represent anyone that may fit this mold?

In addition to Yao, BDA Sports Management represented six first-round draft picks this year: the Chicago Bulls' Jay Williams, the Memphis Grizzlies' Drew Gooden, the Indiana Pacers' Fred Jones, the Los Angeles Lakers' Kareem Rush and Detroit Pistons' Tayshaun Prince. The Toronto Raptors' Antonio Davis and the Dallas Mavericks' Steve Nash have been longtime clients as well.

Antonio Davis?

I was thinking that also, but AD makes 12 mill and 13 mill for the next two years. The suns wouldnt take that on, would they. And what would they send back?

Interesting!

Does anyone think that Sarver is going to be one of those "money is no object" type of owner and that's why we're making a lot of moves?

Certainly seems that way. He has more money than Mark Cuban!

Is there any way to get a complete list of whom Duffy represents?

Makes sense but I wouldn't consider that shocking

I agree. He did kind of retract from the shocking comment. He said it wasnt as shocking as the steve nash signing. I actually like JP. He's a damn good defender.

They wouldn't have signed Q otherwise, is my guess.

Everybody always looks at Marion as the guy who's automatically going to get shipped, but my guess is that a Suns trade for a center would involve other pieces instead--JJ, Casey Jacobsen, Zarko, Lampe, and possibly Eisley (for salary-matching purposes).

As for Bill Duffy's remark, though, the "next few days" bit sounds like it would happen before the Q business is resolved, so the "shocking" aspect of it is probably that player X is willing to sign for the minimum. ;)

Add to that list long-time clients such as Steve Nash, Antonio Davis and Michael Olowokandi and Duffy is quickly gaining a reputation as a power broker.

Michael Olowokandi?

Thats a possibility. G and A mentioned JP today, but I can maybe see Olowakandi. He's not really known for his defense though, is he?

Dude, we're getting Dejan Koturovic back!

Seriously, if it's a Duffy client, it's probably Przybilla. It is a little surprising if the Vanilla Gorilla is reduced to signing for the minimum so soon.

The centers on those list does not look appealing

No way we are getting Yao Ming or Rasho Nesterovic

I really dont want Michael Olowokandi

So the only viable options are...

Antonio Davis
Joel Przybilla
Zeljko Rebraca
Jeff Foster
Nate Huffman

Out of those maybe I wouldnt mind Antionio Davis or Jeff Foster but like I said it does not look that appealing

All I can say is that this offseason has been very entertaining overall

Rasho and Yao are the ONLY guys that would be "shocking" to me that Duffy represents. I mean, some of the other guys are "OK", but hardly shocking! To me shocking is getting a guy that everyone thinks is "untouchable."

If rebraca is his idea of shocking, then Ill be pissed. He did back off that statement after he said it though...

Question... Did Duffy say it was a client of HIS?? Could it be another player who isn't even a client of Duffy's? He said that he spoke with them today which could mean that they were only together due to Nash's official signing and maybe the Sun's brass dropped a few nuggets of info to him about possible acquisitions down the road. It might normally be unheard of to share that kind of info with an agent but maybe not so since Duffy is representing Nash and they want them both to know what efforts are being made to improve the team. A possiblity, I think....

If this is really Kris Kristofferson, then THAT would be shocking. His defense hasn't been the same since Semi-Tough.

I think the shocking part is that the Suns are signing a center.

Joel Przybilla

Geez, what a stiff. I guess he'd be better than nothing.

The guy averages like 10 games a year. Is that from injuries or DNP's?

He didnt say it was his agent, but Im not sure why the suns would be talking to him about other players. Hmm. I guess he does work for SFX and it could be an SFX player, but i dont know.
