would be the true lineup we were gonna play.

Yeah when you are playing that lineup for 6 minutes or so a game it suddenly becomes the standard.

Besides that Amare didn't say anything except that he isn't going to START at center.

I don't see the Suns giving up the likely best 1,2,3 rotation by trading a 26yr old allstar to get a decent "old" center who wants big money.

And what are they trading for Dikembe? Eisley?

Even their salaries don't match and I doubt New York wants Eisley back. That would have to be a complicated multi team trade.

you are right. It probably wouldn't be a straight swap, but there are several trades being thrown around right now involving Dallas, New York, Golden State, etc. Perhaps the Phoenix Suns are looking to get into the mix.

Well I just think that Marion or Johnson won't be traded.

If they add a center via trade they will move Eisley, picks, Jacobsen, Zarko or Milos. Maybe Lampe.

How much does Kurt Thomas make, 8 mil? So, maybe we give up Marion for Thomas and Najara, so that Toronto gets Marion instead of Finley who is old, in that rumored 3-way Toronto-NY-Dallas trade to move Carter to Dallas and Walker to NY. I like Thomas and Najara a lot.

That's just as bad. Kurt Thomas is smaller than Amare I think. And he is not even worth half as much as Marion alone.

Notice how Phoenix gets raped in this idea yet again?? Dallas gets Carter for Walker and Najera, Toronto gets Marion for Carter, New York gets Walker for Thomas and we get Thomas and Najera for a 26yr old allstar? WTF?

Shawn Marion won't be traded for stuff like that. The only way Marion gets traded is if we get a young player that either is at a high level already or has a chance to be special.

The biggest shocker would be Alonzo Mourning (there's some speculation that he will soon receive medical clearance to make a comeback), however, isn't he still property of the Nets? I know obviously this is all far-fetched, but that's the only player I would deem as the "ultimate shocker"......

We would have to trade for Zo. He has 3/18M$ left on his contract. Since the Nets are being cheap they would probably take something like Eisley 2yrs/13M$ and 3M$ cash for Zo. With a cheap throw in like Vujanic maybe or Jacobsen or so.

That would certainly qualify as shocking.

I think if Mourning had any thoughts of a comeback, we would have heard something.

Could it be Dale Davis of the Blazers? He has an expiring contract and is known more for his defense than offense.

What about Theo Ratliff? He might be a nice addition at the 5 spot.

NBA News Forum is reporting that the Suns and Timberwolves are working on a trade. Here are the details:

Minnesota trades:
SF Wally Szczerbiak
C Michael Olowokandi
2005 1st round draft pick
2006 2nd round draft pick

Minnesota receives:
SF Shawn Marion
C Jake Voskuhl

This might be the deal that Duffy is referring reporting. Stay tuned.

I'd take that trade in a second with Minnesota, but I just dont see why the Twolves would do that trade. I think a trade with New Orleans with Marion + Fillers for Magloire + Fillers would seem more likely. After all, the Hornets are desperate for another scorer, and Jamaal is the only person on that team not named Baron that could get them someone in return.

Duffy being Olowokandi's agent makes this trade a possibility. Maybe the T-Wolves want another big time scorer (Marion). I'm like you I make this deal if it unfolds.

I think that trade possibility sucks. Olowakandi is lazy and is one of the biggest #1 pick busts in recent history and Wally has had injury problems. The picks don't make up for it because they'll be late round picks.

This deal really blows. WTF. Is this another message board forum or is this legit?

Wow, that Wolves trade would be shocking indeed. I'm not sure I like it. I like the first-round draft pick, though. (A second-rounder in 2006, why bother?)

I'll have to think about it. My first instinct is that I don't like it.

On second thought, I definitely don't like it. The Suns need to add a center, not replace one flawed center with another.

Actually I think the Suns could do worse. It makes sense on a lot of levels.

#1 Wally is a much better shooter than Marion. The Suns seem determined to surround Amare with shooters.

#2 Wally and KG don't really get along and I believe that a parting of ways is possible.

#3 Olowakandi is at least a true center.

#4 The Suns owe the Spurs a pick. If the Suns trade for the Timberwolves pick, they can give them that one and keep their pick and the Bulls pick.

No thanks to the Min. trade. Candyman has underacheved big time and last year was not even getting much playing time. Wally would be a nice piece to the bench, but no way I give Marion for them.

What does Wally make anyway? If he makes the same as Marion than no thanks.
