I just feel the longer we hold Bled the more his value could slip. Two years left on his contract is almost the minimum to get a decent return back. I wish he had another year...Then maybe we could crack the top ten. I think we need to package him with at least a Miami pick to get top 7.

I understand the desire to trade Bledsoe but this must be measured against the cost of taking a step backwards. I'm not sure Sarver or McDonough want to do this. The patience for rebuilding is growing thin.

Sarver said 2020. Bledsoe is a FA in 2019.

I think the Suns will trade him regardless of taking a PG or not in the top-3.

Oh yeah... oops. We're supposed to start winning again. I need to adjust my tanked brain.

I would be excited about drafting another PG.

I like PGs like corner backs in football although Dragic and IT didn't like it. :)

Still the Suns will likely be faced with the prospect of trading Knight and Bledsoe in the upcoming off-season if they draft a PG.

No more tanking... enough is enough.

The Suns need to go forward and they should be ready with their 2017 draft pick, future picks and the Miami picks.

It is? Doesn't seem to me like there's a whole lot of pressure to win these days. Next year could be a different story though.

The Suns have been tanking this season for a better draft pick.

I expect next season the Suns will focus on winning but not abandoning their youth in doing so.

True... but we were terrible with them. We've just become GOD-AWFUL without 'em.

The game was within 5 with a few minutes to go last night. This team is closer than it presently appears.

The Warriors were playing without THREE starters last night and they're playing out the string with a comfortable lead for home court.

They've lost 11 games in a row and are going to have the 2nd worst record in the league... third worst combined for the last two years.

They ain't close... but they've got a couple very nice pieces to build on and have a shot at a superstar to bring it all together... but that still won't happen for years until they mature together.

I expect quite a shakeup this next draft. I think Bled has played his last game in a suns uniform.

I think Bledsoe will be dealt under these scenarios...

Bled+Brandon for player and pick

Bled+pick to get back in the draft

Bled+pick to aquire younger upcoming talent.

I just don't see the suns keeping Bledsoe around to get a few more measly wins and still not make the playoffs. The only avenue I see the suns keeping Bledsoe is if they are willing to trade some of our young guns for an established star...But I doubt they are willing to take that route unless it's a deal too good to pass up.

There is almost no point in keeping Bledsoe period. Even if we get Jackson our team is too young to make a splash even with Bled at the peak of his powers. When the suns are finally ready for serious playoff contention Bledsoe's contract is up.

What is this in reference to? 2020 we'll be a playoff team or ? That's a few years away, I doubt Sarver is that patient.

I don't think it matters who we pick, or sign in free agency for that matter, I would be shocked if Knight was still on this team next year. Ulis is our backup PG and we should be able to find a real backup SG to play with him in the 2nd unit with one of our picks or in free agency if they don't pick up Barbosa's option. Barbosa became our backup SG before Knight was shutdown for the year, pushing Knight out of the rotation almost entirely. If he wasn't our highest paid player I'm sure he wouldn't have seen much court time at all and there wouldn't have been talk of shutting him down because he couldn't get in the rotation anyways.

Bledsoe is another story, he actually has value and is a good player who has grown during his time here. He's a borderline All-Star level talent in addition to becoming a good veteran leader for our young guys. The age gap between him, Booker, Chriss, and our draft pick is too much for him to be counted on to be productive when they're all hitting their stride in the league. His injury history worries me also, not so much that he'll get injured again but he probably only has 1 maybe 2 years after his current contract before he starts regressing. He's had 3 knee surgeries since he's been a Sun and I'm pretty sure he had at least 1 in LA. No matter if they're minor or not, that's troubling for a player who relies on his athleticism in order to be productive offensively. I don't want the Suns to be on the hook for his next contract.

That was a while ago right? Bender I would put money on not being an all-star, the stats / probability is so heavily skewed against him it's not funny. Even had a look for signs of pre-NBA statistical promise this morning and there really isn't any.

Barbosa is a Point Guard in size only. Saying that he is better than Knight at the Point is not saying very much. Especially with Tyler Ulis showing that he is the best (backup) Point Guard on the team, especially with Booker's skills as a playmaker.

I said Barbosa was our backup SG, didn't say anything about him playing PG. Ulis is our backup PG and much better than Knight is at playing PG.

I could actually see us trading Bledsoe to the Kings or Mavs to get back into the top ten. Bam from Kentucky is a player I would love to see us get after our first pick. I expect him to be in the top 15 come draft night. He would be a young athletic shot blocker and rebounder who would compliment our young squad.

Top 10 is a little high for Bam Adebayo.

I would not draft a center in the lottery anymore unless it is generational talent.

The past has shown that center value is unpredictable, at least to NBA scouts. There have been more quality centers picked up in the late or 2nd round than in the lottery where most centers were busts.

Drummond, Cousins, Lopez if we classify all of them as centers.
On the other hand you have guys like Len, Zeller, Kaminsky, Adams, Poetl, Valunciunas, Kanter, Okafor, Noel, WCS etc..

And in the late to 2nd round Whiteside, Jokic, Gobert, DeAndre Jordan, Zubac, Capela, M.Gasol, Gortat

I can't believe this thread hasnt gotten more traction. Taking the cue from last season I want the suns to crack the top ten again.... Meaning two picks in the top ten. I want Jackson and a PG... Hopefully Dennis Smith because he might be there at 7 and is attainable. I don't know if we can get higher than 7 if we trade Bled and pick(s).

Is Bledsoe+Miami pick+second rounders... Could that crack the top 7? Part of me doesn't think it can....
