We're getting a 1st...2nd and a vet with post play...passing and rebounding for a player we basically released. That's the meat a taters. I love it

You can say good-bye to Chandler. No need for 3 Centers.
I don't disagree, but getting rid of a veteran might not be the wisest of ideas for this squad.
1) What is the protection
2) And what are the chances Milwaukee actually missing the playoffs?
I could see top 18 protected, or similar, but the Bucks are a PO team.

That literally makes no sense. How can a first round pick be "top 47 for 2018" protected??

Guess I'm in the minority, but I'm good with this trade. The Suns weren't going to get a top player or top 5 pick, and there were very few players available to start in a trade.

Let's cool the jets and see how this plays out during the draft and summer.

I think the top 47 refers to second round pick

Gambo says Suns get pick if between 11-16. If higher or lower, rolls over into 2019 where it's Suns between 4-16. Only protected 1-7 in 2020. 2021 unprotected.

I'd have just taken the 2018 pick protected 1-10. Even if the Bucks make it to the ECF, the pick is worth more to us this year than later.

I'm sorry but this is PATHETIC.

Better than straight lottery protected. Gives some upside (though a LOT would have to go right) while also limiting the downside of the pick.

I would have traded Bled for a 2nd rounder. He sucked . 2 bad knees. The Suns should have tweeted We dont want you here right after his tweet. Hell I'm trading him straight up for Monroe. I give it 12 games before he's out with an injury
Welp, you've lost at least some credibility with this post.

While it kind of sucks that we likely don’t get the pick this year. At least in the event that they fall short due to injuries or something and end up in the late lottery we get the pick. So there is a chance of it being a good pick.

So it has downside protection. I wonder if the 2021 it's not protected for either side, so we HAVE to accept it whatever it is, or if it means we can potentially get up to #1 and still not lower then something.

It's almost like the reverse of the old Cavs pick. Where instead of getting it when they make the playoffs, we get it when they don't, at least until 2021, and maybe 2020.

We still need more clarity on what the protections means exactly in 2020 and 2021.

I'd rather wait then get a 20+ pick. The Bucks have some pieces and might turn into a team that can be quite good soon, but you never know when things are potentially 3-4 years out what could happen.

Okay, Woj's tweet does mean both teams have a sort of protection on it.

And for the 2nd round, we could lose it altogether

Here is what I expected. I expected McD to keep his mouth shut, handle this internally and maximize value for Bledsoe. The more professional you handle this the more value you can expect in return.

Let's not pretend this isn't the first time the Suns have been on the short end of a trade under this front office.

Surely we should expect more than that.

I am ok with this deal. The protection on the pick is nice since I see the Bucks being a playoff team unless a major injury to Ganas.

Bogdan would have been nice, but with only two years on his deal it would be a risk. Plus I could see the Sun's looking to the draft this year for PG of future.

I just visited Bucks forums even they feel like they raked the Suns over the coals on this one. They are besides themselves they had to give up so little.

That says it all.

Ownership and front office needs an enema.

I really don't see how he helps the bucks. I think his stats are just empty honestly he's really not a guy who makes other guys better and he's a ball stopper.

Ha. Theyre bucks fans AND live in milwaukee. Your giving them far too much credit for their intelligence.

They might be bucks fans but they are right. They didn't give up any major piece of their core. Many of them thought for sure it was going to cost them at least one of their best players. It didn't.

Seems like an ok deal to me, and happy to have the Bledsoe thing over and done with.

I mean if you guys were expecting the Suns FO to fleece somebody and knock this trade outta the park,,,, well I dont know what to tell ya. :)

What we were expecting and what we should be expecting out of this ownership and front office are two different things.
