Just got a text message from Sports 620 Ktar saying Boldin has no desire to resign with the team and told his agent to stop negotiations.

Before we jump off bridges remember who his agent is. Not the first time a Rosenhaus client has said I'll never sign with you again in an effort to get more money.

But on the surface doesn't sound good.

Nothing like alienating the heart and soul of the team, somebody that this franchise trotted out as the connsumate leader and team captain.

Major kudos to RG and the front office for keeping the core of the team together. Looks like we will not only lose our best defensive player in Dansby, but also one of the few guys that has ever come here and wanted to change the culture. Two steps forward, three steps back...SOC:mad:

Not to mention that he's still signed for a few more years...3 right? So, he's still not going anywhere. If he decides to be a malcontent, or to holdout for a trade, he will decrease his market value. He needs to perform at his max for the remainder of his contract...which is a good thing for the Cards. Oh, and he needs to show he can stay healthy for a full season.

Boldin can take his pity party somewhere else.

They told Boldin flat out that negotiate with us now in December or you will have to wait. What did Boldin and Drew tell Graves, "We will wait until Fitz gets his new deal."

What a big difference to what Drew stated just yesterday.

He met with all of his clients on the Cardinals, as well as coach Ken Whisenhunt. Rosenhaus told me he also met with GM Rod Graves in the Valley Wednesday evening before making the drive to Flagstaff.

It was his first trip here, and he was impressed. However, he's not any closer to a deal for receiver Anquan Boldin. Rosenhaus said there are significant issues to resolve but it's a positive that the two sides are still talking.

Rosenhaus catches some heat in some corners, but Graves has always had a good working relationship with him. Rosenhaus doesn't close down conversations, and he's known for getting deals done.

Never thought I would see the day that Boldin would be seen as the butthole in these negotiations more so then his agent Drew.

We should have traded Boldin before the draft when the WR market was at its highest especially since not a single WR was taken in the 1st round.

This is not on RG, completely, or the Cards. It's as much Boldin's fault as their's. He was tendered an extension last season and turned it down. He says his stance now is not about money...but, then why did he turn down the previous extension? Things just don't add up with this story.

I'm not saying that RG is the best GM in the league...heck, he's hardly average...but, I don't think he's got the capability of outright lying to a player, especially of Boldin's caliber. JMO.

That is not a Drew tactic. Going to the media is and other things, but shutting down conversations is not. This is a Boldin thing not a Drew thing.

From Somers blog just yesterday.

Hard to say you hire an agent like Drew for a reason you want a better deal and you know he'll do anything to get it. He got one for Anquan already but now they clearly feel he's underpaid again.

if I had to bet I'd say that Drew essentially convinced him look you gotta quit saying I'm a team guy I'll be patient, you have to be a bad guy here to force their hand.

I hope Im' right, if Anquan was speaking for himself not Drew it's probably going to get ugly.

That original offer wasnt enough for Boldin that is for sure. Not enough gauranteed money. But here is why it lays at Boldins feet. Graves told them to negotiate and they said no thanks we will wait. Graves then told them if you wait we might not be able to work with you until the season starts or longer because of other priorites when the offseason roles around.

I'm not saying that RG is the best GM in the league...heck, he's hardly average...but, I don't think he's got the capability of outright lying to a player, especially of Boldin's caliber. JMO.

I am one of the biggest Graves bashers around, but there is one thing I am sure of concerning Graves. HE is about as truthfull and trustworthy as they come, kind of to a fault really.

What? Great idea! Let's trade the malcontent with three years left on his contract for the malcontent with one year left on his contract! You should be the GM. Stupid Ron Graves.

If he decides to be a malcontent,

He is already there. You dont come out with comments like this, bash the GM, say you dont want to be a Cardinal, not show up for OTA's and most likely will not show up for OTA's the final 3 years, without being a malcontent.
