[font=verdana,arial,helvetica] Boldin Apologizes

http://azcardinals.com/news/news_details.html?iid=3284

Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin met with local media today to apologize to the citizens of Arizona for his unsportsmanlike conduct in last week’s game against Jacksonville.

The former Pahokee, Florida native volunteers a lot of his time in the community and wanted to let his younger fans know he is not proud of some of the decisions he made during last week’s game.

“I try to live by what I tell my younger fans,” said Boldin. “Sunday I obviously did some things that I wasn’t proud of I want to apologize to them. I feel like in a way I kind of let them down and that is something I don’t want to do. I want to be a great example for them.”

Boldin wrote a letter to officially apologize:

To the citizens of Arizona:

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for my actions on the field last Sunday, November 27th against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

During the game I was penalized twice for unsportsmanlike conduct. I realize this was a poor example for the young people who follow our games. I know that my actions must set an example, no matter what the circumstances may be.

I apologize to all Cardinals fans, residents of Arizona, the Cardinals organization, the coaching staff, and my teammates. I made a poor choice in my behavior last Sunday. In the past, I have told my young fans that it is okay to make mistakes, as long as they remain accountable for their actions and learn from them. I have learned from my mistake and will make better judgments in the future.

Sincerely,

Anquan Boldin
Arizona Cardinals

What?
He doesn't need to appologize to me. When you're right you're right. Anquan was right. I would accept an appology from those crap refs we've had in the past though. They owe us more than Q could ever make up for.

No, he didn't need to, that's what makes the apology so impressive.

Anquan is already a god here.

Now what? How much higher can he go?

What is great here, is the fact that he didn't qualify it by saying "I'm sorry... BUT..." Good PR meve Q! I know there was some questionable mess going on in the game, but to be man enough to stand up and do the opposite of what the NFL player is expected to do after the fact is commendable. You still are A #1!

Tremendous display of class in an era where you have "me first" mentalities (TO, Michael Irvin and the like). One thing you have to admire about the Bidwills, they will sacrifice wins for players with character. Good people like Quan, Fitz, Warner, etc. are what make me proud to be a Cards fan. I wouldn't trade any of them for a team of Terrell Owenses no matter how many SB they win.

The depressing part... his apology won't even get a sniff from the national media...

Not a knock on Boldin at all, so dont take it that way, but you got to believe some coaches and or players were also in his ear after the game. Someone had to have sat him down and had a talk after his initial quotes and comments.

Good move all the way around. Now dont do it again.

in society, it doesn't matter what's in your heart, it's your behavior that matters.
By that standard, Q has done very well to apoligize.

Hopefully his teamates will see that letter and look in the mirror.

How can you not run through a wall for a teamate like that?

Shame on any paycheck players that don't help turn this thing around.

Boldin Love-Fest or not...

Q blew it. He knew it.

He cost the team big with those needless penaties.

He should apologize and NOT DO IT AGAIN!

Beyond that...all hail Quan.

Q did the wrong thing on the field, sure, but someone has to get in the face of refs making continuous bad calls and non-calls. Quan overstepped his bounds Sunday and went above and beyond by issuing a letter of apology to all.

Green should have been in the face of the officials and should apologize to the team for not doing so.

The Bidwills should be in the ear of Tag-me-a-boob about the kind of officiating going on out there. The officials should be apologizing.

Any idea why Green doesn't get in the ears of the refs? I think if he did, there wouldn't be a need for players like Q to take it on themselves to voice their disapproval. Does Green ever say anything, to anyone while he's on the sideline?

That being put out there, I'm in total agreement with most, hail Q :notworthy . He could have let it go (as most of us agreed with him anyway) but he chose to do the right thing.

What a contrast:

Q apologizes for unsportsmanlike conduct in ONE game

TO cries, *******, moans, trash talks his own teammates and wants more money for MOST of his carreer

If my kids are watching football, I'm telling then that Q is a role model and T.O. is just a clown..like Homer Simpson, you think he's funny but you certainly don't wanna be like him

I played hockey at all levels from age 5 to 30.

I saw referees screamed at by players, coaches and the crowd. Saw them physically attacked and even escourted by police out of town.

In the end - it all serves no good purpose in any sport because what I never saw was - ONE BAD CALL CHANGED - as a result of this attempt at intimidation and it didn't make a bit difference in terms of the game called subsequently.
