i thought Booker learned from Laker game 3

we squeaked by again because the Clips only scored 13 in the 4th
but 1 of those points was courtesy of Booker's dumb*** T

as feared, he over-reacted to a PG bump, got himself in foul trouble, and shifted into hot-head mode
-- held the ball, forced shots and turnovers, blowing 3 straight chances to distance us from the Clips in the final minutes

ironically, the best thing the Suns had going for them in the 4th, besides their terrific D, was Booker fouling out

if the Suns don't win it all, CP3 may not be back.
fact is, his split from the Rockets was fueled by their playoff elimination that resulted from Harden's constant isolation ball at crunch time

Nah. CP3 can go to Book at any time and Book will say "yes sir." If CP3 is not back, it will be because he WANTS to be somewhere else (like LA) not because he does not want to be here. CP3 came here to play with Book and he does nothing but lavish praise on him.

proposed trade: Booker for Lillard

Sure, because you always see teams go from 11 year playoff droughts to being finals contenders and then trading away their 24 year old franchise player.

I'm shocked you haven't been offered a GM job somewhere with ideas like that.

Sometimes I don't understand why some fans are so hard on Devin Booker.

Yes, I know he is not a finished product and understand his imperfections but he is a young star on the rise.

I seriously doubt Chris Paul would have come to the Suns if it wasn't for Booker.

i just checked the age difference, which is, indeed, a problem

but Lillard is a much better clutch shooter (best in the league)
and, i believe, like most, i'd rank him ahead of Booker in general

Book looked like a top 10 player a few weeks ago
but not today
there are too many other players that are more often unstoppable

I call Bull unless you are only counting offensive clutch shooting. Lillard is a horrible defender while Book has been recognized as a good defender this year. On this team it’s not offense that has turned this team around it’s defense. This teams gets worse defensively with that trade and gets older while giving up a 24 year old who can get better.

Worst trade idea I have head in sometime.

i do believe Booker's bball iq will improve with experience
but i think his decision making will always be his flaw

i'd only keep him if he can paired with a bright point guard who can lead
CP3 won't be around for long

Booker has gotten better each year. What leads you to believe he won’t get better but I.Q.?!? At 24 that defies logic.

I agree he needs a good PG but that doesn’t make that trade idea a good idea.

as of May "Lillard has scored 149 points in clutch situations this season, per NBA.com. That’s 20 more than anyone else." - The Ringer

they also ranked Booker 20 and Lillard 11

as i said, i do think Booker will improve with experience
but i think we all know people who bad decision makers at age 24
and still making bad decisions at 34

and the kind of decisions i'm talking about are tied to his emotions
those are the hardest to change

That's in part because the Blazers couldn't close teams out like the Suns. You get more "clutch" opportunities when the score is close. The Suns learned to close teams out and won without their starters on the floor for the final whistle quite a bit.

Total clutch points isn't a good stat to judge how clutch someone is. Clutch field goal percentage, would be much better to view.

Lillard has also been ranked in the top 5 worst defensive players before. The team doesn’t need less defense for the sake of offense.

if we win the title
(and i think we will)
i'm good with Book
(until CP3 leaves. then the situation has to be re-evaluated)

Having a good PG around him minimizes that. Lillard will never improve defensively. That will not change either. What makes you think making this team worse defensively makes us better when every analyst out there says it’s defense that has turned around the franchise?!

When CP3 is gone you need to reevaluate that position not Booker.

You make him out to be something he isn't IMO. He basically took over a really bad team with zero leadership when he was still the youngest player in the game. He had no positive role model and even still, his decision making was nowhere near the level you're talking about. And now, still a fairly young man, there's a reason that Chris Paul describes him as one of the most mature 24 year olds he's ever seen.

when he isn't frustrated, he might indeed be mature for 24. there's a lot of bright, mature people who get stupid when agitated (it's a trend in America)

let's hope we get to the Finals and the Bucks (preferably) haven't got the personnel to push Bookers buttons like the Clips
