Treating him as a player, and not a member of the front office does not equate to treating him like property. That’s just a flat out inflammatory comment.

How many of you have bosses that come and talk to you in advance of someone you like being fired? My god you’re all being treated like property!!!

The Suns put Booker in this situation. Go read.

Sarver needs to look at this situation and realize McD needs to attend some sort of workshop to help him develop people skills. It seems like he ignores the human element of his job quite often. It's not a terrible thing or something that isn't fixable but it is a bit of a concern that he's still making the same mistakes years into his career. He handled the Markieff/Marcus, Zoran/Goran, and Bledsoe issues poorly. He needs to learn to make a phone call before taking action on certain things to avoid making more calls later to clean up the mess he created.
Even better, Sarver needs to stop hiring inexperienced Front Office people, especially as GM.

We know that he hires people who won't challenge his interfering. His oversized ego better not that ruin the opportunity we have with Ayton in the middle.

The bottom line about this episode is that Booker is pissed. A good management team doesn't create that scenario, no matter who is right.

Because when you’re running a professional organization you make decisions to better the organization. Not to avoid irritating people. Particular when the actions providing the “irritant” shouldn’t irritate a professional.

Often both can be accomplished if one is a good manager.

This was going to be emotional for booker. What part of emotion should not be a part of roster decisions do you not understand? Including booker in the process invites disaster.

MAJOR DECISIONS

In no universe is cutting a second round third string undersized recently injured pg a “major decision”

This was close enough to warrant management discussing it with Booker.

Eh, neither of them should have been surprised by Ulis getting cut. He is not an NBA player. That said, I would have given Booker heads-up. He'll get over it.

I view it differently. It looks like the Suns did not foresee the problems it might cause.

This is all really much ado about nothing. This will be long forgotten by next year when it's time for Booker to sign his next contract. How next season plays out will be exponentially more important than this little dust up and even then, it's not easy to turn down $168 million.

Booker didn’t demand anything. If anything, it sounds like you should be upset at the front office for telling Booker he was the foundation of the franchise. Sure he doesn’t need to be consulted on everything, but not every player we trade or waive is his best friend either. More about common courtesy then getting his ok on it.
Agreed and another thing is that the Suns need to stop bringing brothers and best friends to the team because it adds a level of tension when things like this happen.

I think Bourguet put it perfectly

It's common sense. In today's NBA, players have a huge role in running the league.

Or maybe they did and avoided even bigger problems.
I don’t think you’re ever going to get this one. Nobody is advocating Booker making the decision to waive Ulis, or even participate in the decision making process. But you keep accusing us of saying it.
