Yes, I read it. And I was well aware of it even before this article. But what's your point? There's nothing in that article that goes against what I said. How is this a "major" decision? And putting Booker in the conversation about current players is the real problem. It's not much different than turning someone into a stoolie, teammates will start to watch their words and actions around the guy. Opens up a can of worms we just don't need.

A “partner” in the process doesn’t necessarily mean he has to participate in financial decisions (the Ulis decision is classic cost-benefit).

This was a personnel decision as well but we know this.

The point is exactly what the article said. I guess we are down to defining "major."

It's major for Booker and Ulis.

IT DOESN’T MATTER. It’s common courtesy, period. He had PLENTY of time to be upset about the waiving itself. My guess is he isn’t upset about cutting Ulis, just upset that he wasn’t informed they were doing it. It’s his best friend for chrissakes! This is different than waiving Davon Reed.
You don’t tell the friend before you tell the player himself! That is unprofessional.

agree.

Should they have called him right after Ulis? Sure. But telling him first before Ulis is beyond unprofessional. Then Ulis could have bitched and complained that they told Booker first and been butt hurt and that might have pissed Booker off.

Bottom line... stop bringing in star players' best friends, bad brothers and second cousins to curry favor. Get them to want to be here by WINNING.

And how do we know if Booker isn't really upset? Indications are he is.

Yeah well...I guess this is an argument against getting Townes too so we prevent these kinds of "dilemmas". Keep things professional.

Yeah we don't get it Chaplin ...The team is full of friends. Maybe they should have a team meeting before every ejection so friends can have a group cry over it.
Yeah because that’s what we’ve been talking about... at least try to be constructive.

Maybe Booker doesn't get it.

I have to think Booker doesn't trust the Suns quite as much as he once did. The same with some other players that are gone.

If something happens down the road which makes Booker unhappy he will remember the unsavory part of the Suns reputation and remember.

Maybe there is no right answer. Maybe the suns need to avoid that drama and conduct business as usual. Anything other than that just complicates things further than they need to be.

I'm all for going full speed ahead but this does not help the Suns reputation with players.

The Suns need to hire a great PR person and player liaison because what they are doing is not working as I view it.

they really need to just hire a new GM. One who doesn't perpetually piss our players off.

my guess is that happens after this season.

I'm getting tired of defending McDonough when he doesn't help himself. It's always something.

He needs to finish the puzzle so fans have hope going forward.

I have stuck up for McDonough more than once but his inability to learn from his mistakes is just asinine.

The sooner he and his stench is off this team the better

I have been reading all of the posts but not participating. It seems to me that it is not about if or when Booker was or wasn't apprised. Or generalizations about the team and friends.

It is about the Suns Front Office announcing to the Press and fans previously that DBooker would be involved in personnel decisions, then not following through. That seems to be what Devin is reacting to.

By now he should know that Sarver and his errand boy McDonough are inexperienced and unprofessional. Sadly, that means that he will look for greener pastures as soon as he can.

They not only betrayed Booker, they betrayed Suns fans hoping that, with the #1 draft pick, we would finally be professional and competitive. I was wondering when we got Ayton how long it would take the Suns to mess it up.

As the old saying goes, Sarver and McDonough would f*** up a wet dream. :thumbdown:thumbdown
