Harvey’s Wineburger has an absurd bourbon selection for a dive. Eagle rare 10 for 8 bucks a pour and they pour pretty stiff.
Harvey's is awesome.

Headed on a quick vacation tomorrow to head up to Reno/Tahoe to visit my daughter, her fiance, and my granddaughter this weekend. Starting the weekend off tonight with a Golden Hour cocktail.

I used to frequent South Lake Tahoe. Reno and Tahoe both have such laid back vibes. I miss them.

Also, it's an acquired taste, but Picon Punches are a Basque treat to me!

Founded in 1885, the Genoa Bar has entertained many famous politicians, actors, and writers over the years including, among the most recognizable names, Johnny Cash and Mark Twain. The large original room hosts the original high bar that extends the length of the space. Old paintings, photographs, and spider web-covered animal antlers dot the walls.

Picon Punch has been likened to aviation fuel by Assemblyman Horne, an “honorary Basque,” who in 2013 attempted to pass a bill to make Picon Punch the Nevada state drink.

They are supposed to be super potent. IDK that. So when we first moved to NV, friends of my wife tried to get me plastered by ordering them all night for me. They were disappointed when I showed up for my kids soccer game the next day. Then they told me they that one is supposed to get you drunk. I got hooked on them right from the start. There's two people on those drinks, ones that do drink them, and those that hate them. There's no middle ground. :)

I'd be skeptical of that one. It's marketed like a mixed drink and, given the price point, I'd suspect that the ingredients are of middling quality.

I'm getting into bourbon but I've learned I really don't like rye whisky. It always tastes like a musty haystack to me.

The bartender at The Melting Pot suggested a Sagamore Rye with an OF the other night and it was delicious. I looked for it at Total Wine the other day and they were out, but I'll try and find it and report back on if it stands on its own.

My wife is a Grand Reserve member at Total Wine and they had a special release event that we went to. She scored the following bottle from High West called The Prisoners Share. It’s a very limited release bottle that is aged in Cab Sauv wine barrels from The Prisoner. Fantastic!
