For 2 years i was bashing James Laurinitis and saying the Cards should avoid him at all costs when the draft rolled around. There's no way i thought he'd even play at a decent level in the NFL and had bust written all over him. Shows what i know. He's probably going to be the defensive ROY and is all over the field making plays. He had 16 tackles yesterday. I thought he'd be limited athletically but he has made a smooth transition and the announcers were saying that the coaches and players love the guy. That part isn't surprising. He was always reputed to be the hardest worker at OSU. Still, it was nice to see Beanie give him one of his patented stiff arms in the 1st half.

Rams fans are very pleased with him, I can tell you.

Despite the lousy record, I think most Rams fans are feeling a lot better about the direction of the team than we have in awhile.

I don't know Cbus seemed to me most of the tackles he made were 5-8 yards downfield? The 50 yard run by Hightower was completely Laurinitis' fault, TH made a cut and Laurinitis just fell down opening the gaping hole.

Beanie trucked him a couple of times well downfield. On the TD run live I thought he ran over Laurinitis again but it was actually someone else.

He was certainly active but I didn't see a lot of plays at the LOS or in the backfield.

They looked a lot better on Sunday that's for sure. I would say if I'm a Rams fan I have the same concern Cards fans do, how much longer does Bulger have and who is the heir apparent? I still think Leinart is for us, I couldn't even tell you who the Rams' backup QB is.

But I love Steven Jackson and Avery and Gibson were pretty impressive yesterday too.

He's the same player he was at Ohio State. A drag down tackler, who makes plays 4-8 yards downfield. Rarely hits a guy a drives him back, and rarely makes tackles for no gain or TFLs.

Bucks defense got better LB play this year with him gone. They actually got a pair of LBs who hit you and drop you on the spot.

Im glad we didn't draft Laurinaitis. He's gonna be a steady MLB for a long time, but he's not an impact player

NOBODY is safe frome the stiff arm! Beanie would throw the Stiff Arm on Anquan Boldin if he got in his way!!!!

Man did you nail this kid to a tee.Great read. He's gonna lead your team in tackles but it will be the biggest misread of who he really is as a player.I think they wasted a very high second round pick myself.Just like the second pick overall for the second year in a row.Howie Longs kid does'nt have it either.

Rams need a scouting department change desperately.Sorry.

He's having quite an impact as a rookie. You have to figure he'll only get better as he gets older. If you put it in perspective, some of us are sweating the loss of Will Davis and his ,what is it, 6 tackles and 2 sacks.

Will Davis was a 6th round find for the CARDINALS and not an almost 1st rounder taken 2nd in the second round of last years draft. If you read the review written by one poster. He will always lead the team in tackles but never be a big hitter.

He's not been injured this year and the team has had no one to make tackles every game.So its very misleading to compliment this guy on what he's done and what he could have been.Yet his career has just started I know. He's got to become a much more aggressive player and much stronger at the POA.We would'nt allow him on the field with the way he's playing now. He's very finesse.Gets run over quite easily.

You're basing everything on the review of 1 poster????????? You realize most rookies have a hard time seeing significant playing time much less start and lead their team in tackles. I wasn't putting Davis down but you can't compare his production in any way to Laurinaitis's. I was a JL basher but the guy is playing well. If he had that kind of production and was on the Cards we'd all be touting him for DROY. Even if he's not a so-called hard hitter, he's a sure tackler and the main idea is to get the man on the ground. He's done that well. He may not win DROY but he'll defnintely be in the conversation with Cushing, my pick for biggest 1s round bust , Curry, Maualuga, Vonte Davis, Orakpo, and English.

Every player on your list has had an excellent year except I'm not up with Vontae Davis' year. You have to compare what position they play and the playing time as you yourself said

The rams sent the two best lb's on thier team this year to two seperate teams for nothing.First they sent one to the bears that immediately got hurt and was the rams leading tackler for a couple years and then Will Witherspoon to the eagles for a practice team wr who has done okay since arriving.Trying to lighten the burden on the person who buys the team.

Leading the team in tackles when you are the only player playing is'nt that great of a feat if you've made the tackle 10 yards down field everytime. He gets run over so much he should have tread marks on his uniform.

It was one post that WAS dead on in what they said about the year Lauinitis has had. That person was very well knowledgable about what they were posting.I read the herd board all the time.I don't post there but we have some on our board who do.Lauranitis would'nt start on our team.I doubt he would see much playing time.He has the skill level of a Monty Beisel that we just resigned after being released.

You give this OSU guy way too much credit. Are you a big Ten guy?I don't know.I just know he led the lowly rams in tackles. What does that really say? Not what you're getting out of it.I'd much rather have English or a couple others you mentioned than a soft MLB for 7 years to lead the team in drag down tackles.Amazing.

He's nothing to brag about. His numbers are totally ascuewd(sp?)He's given up 5 times as much as he's stopped.Very finesse player.Read the rams board. They are'nt that impressed with him themselves as much as you are.I'm happy for what we found in the 6th round for a position we NEED to fill in an OLB.Thats an awesome find.

Yet the many players passed up and the one taken with the second pick in the 2nd round is one that fell very far in the draft from where he was suppose to fall and yet he still was just steady in getting folks to the ground if it was 10 yards down field or not.

Just glad he's not a CARDINAL.Whiz would NEVER have allowed the pick in the first place.I just beg to differ with your opinion is all.Sorry.:)

i quit reading after you said he has the skill level of Monty Beisel. That's like saying Beanie Wells has the skill level of Marcel Shipp :doi:. No need to go any further with this.
