Did Breaston go backwards on every single punt return yesterday?

We need an upgrade at the position, and this comes from the group that started the 'Steve' chant while he's back there.

Yes. If he is going to do that on every punt return, CALL FOR A FAIR CATCH!

Man, he had some bigtime daylight if he kept going backward! I mean, the dude catches the ball and is almost always instantly hit. Perhaps he just wants to feel what it's like to catch a ball and not get hit the very next second? :D

What bothered me more was not staying inbounds on a simple out for the first down. He normally does that with his eyes closed. Nothing working last night.

We need to get better blocks on punt return. We are getting beaten down the field every single time we receive a punt. Maybe if Breaston had somewhere to run other than backwards, he wouldnt run backwards.

Or maybe he should just stop running backward.

I'm surprised everytime he calls for a Fair Catch. He normally just catches the ball and takes the hit at the same time.

One thing I do like Steve for on those returns is I don't remember a time when he muffed or lost the ball due to fumble.

He has only fumbled one ball while returning punts.

He has made a living on the intermediate routes and teams have been taking those away with the 2 deep zones that they are playing vs the man to man we saw a lot more last year.

I dunno. I have been seeing Fitz and Q regularly double and triple teamed the last few weeks. Breaston should be open and he just isnt getting the ball. I don't think you can just attribute that to Zone play. Good WR's find the holes in the zones.

Just what has happened to Breaston's punt returning after his rookie season? He did a good job returning in his rookie season but since then has generally done a poor job.
