Brewers radio broadcaster Lane Grindle employed the Milwaukee-famous "Get up, get outta here, gone" call on the first Brewers home run of the year, belted by Vinny Capra in the third inning Thursday at Yankee Stadium.
The no-doubt blast to left field continued a hot stretch for the utility infielder, who started at third base after hitting six spring-training home runs. It provided the perfect opportunity to honor Bob Uecker, who died in January at age 90. Uecker famously used the call for his 54 years in the radio booth.
Here's the audio:
Grindle has been part of the Brewers broadcast team since 2016, paired often with Jeff Levering on radio broadcasts, especially with Uecker traveling only minimally in his final years with the Brewers.
It was the first career regular-season MLB home run for Capra, who played in only three games for the Brewers last season.
