In Miley's last 3 starts he has 16K, 3ER in 20.2 innings with only 1 win to show for it. Let's hope our bats wake up tonight against Gallardo who has given up 17 runs (15 ER) in the past 13 innings.

Keep an eye on Parra tonight... If he continues to get behind in the count, he will be in for another long night as it always leads to him swinging at pitches that are so far out of the strike zone, they are virtually unhittable.

The Vortex!
After last night and the preceding nights I have no desire to watch tonight.

Oh - have I mentioned lately how much Kubel sucks?? :D
Despite his slump and not being 100%, runner on 3B with less than two outs and Kubel calmly does what needs to be done. A sac fly to tie the score. I wish all of the D'backs were as professional as Kubel.

In a clutch at-bat, I'd take him over everyone but Goldy, Hill and (now that he's back) Adam Eaton. Even over Parra. Not to mention his surprisingly strong arm in the outfield.

Why are you ragging on Kubel? Or are you doing it to put the reverse jinx on him?

Maybe I'll include Prado in the group, too. D'backs now lead by 2. :)

Ziegler made it look interesting, but at least he kept the ball in the park.

My man Parra needs to sit for a few games. He's in an absolute death spiral and needs a break.

Diamondbacks win! Ziegler is the new closer!
There have been times when Gibby has inexplicably benched the hot hand.

I am sure he is not ready to name Ziegler as Closer. Let's see if he keeps him in that role for the time being.

And if our starters can go 8 innings, so Hernandez/Bell/Putz won't have to setup/close (except to give Ziegler a day off). But then, why will it have to be Hernandez/Bell/Putz? We have other relievers who can go one inning.

It is all in Gibby's hands. If he uses common sense, I'll be the first to congratulate him. If he shows the same ol' attention deficit disorder traits, I'll be the first to think, "I knew it!"

Our manager, just as every other person, has limitations.

Man this team is slumping bad - with the exception of Gold of course... He feels he needs to be both Hank Aaron and Lou Brock in order to compensate for the suckiness of he rest of the team... Uggggghhhh...

2-1 going into the 8th with the bullpen coming in. Man, I feel so comfortable with this lead! No worries
