Action!

Action was a great show. Freakin' hillarious! It's a shame that it was canceled after only a handful of shows.

Does anyone else remember Action?

Yeah, I got it from BBO a few months ago and have watched the first half or so. Pretty funny show. :)

I didn't read thru 9 pages so sue me if this was already brought up, but I think Futurama was cut way to short and was more genius than Family Guy.

I can't believe this one hasn't been mentioned:

M M M M Max Headroom! :) (20 minutes into the future)

Truly a show that was ahead of its time

I agree 100%. Futurama is still one of my favorites. I watch it pretty much everynight on Cartoon Network. As far as Family Guy is concerned, I agree with you. While I find the show funny, there is really nothing original. Plots taken from the Simpsons, jokes that are old and tired, and a complete lack of plot.

The South Park episode that completely trashed Family Guy was, however, very funny.

Firefly was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I couldn't believe it didn't last more than one season.

Lately I've been watching episodes of The Pretender. Sure, it's kind of hokey, but it's also entertaining. It wasn't exactly that shortlived (4 seasons + 2 tv movies), but there was no resolution.

I thought the two TV movies did bring a sense of closure for me anyway.

Millenium

Millennium was always hit and miss with me, partially because I have enough of a theology background to call BS on them. They were mixing theology with mythology too much and it convoluted the storyline.

However, the Jose Chung episode was one of the best-ever written episodes on television. In fact, the crossover episode with the X-Files (played back to back with Millennium) was probably the two finest hours of television writing I've ever witnessed.

Has anyone mentioned Northern Exposer? I don't know how long it was on but I don't think it was ever a big hit ratings wise.

I never gave it a shake. It is on UHD right now though.

The first movie was about some assassin (I don't recall the details). The Island of the Haunted one was dealt more with some of the mythology of the show. Jarod only met his sister in the finale and did not meet his mother at all. I also would have expected some final resolution with the Centre.

Alien Nation

super smart writing, only lasted 1 season with 3 or 4 TV movies following to wrap up the story.

I liked the movie, thought the TV show was OK, but the TV movies were of "V" quality.

Have you seen Twin Peaks? I think you'd really like it (especially Kyle McLachlan's character).

no, but it is in my netflix queue. i had friends in college who basically locked themselves in their apartment after they bought it and watched it straight through. they loved it.

Does netflix have both seasons? BB doesn't have either one available online. It might be worth signing up for a free-trial if I can get my hands on these.
