Two tight ends are big in his offense. I noticed when he took over as OC PITs O got more vertical and Roethlisberger threw more. I don't think Arians O is WCO, which would fit Kolb better, but it seems like it will be a better system than what we just saw. What do you guys think?

He put it well himself.

It is similar but he is more from the school of Tom Moore, then Joe Gibbs (like Whiz was).

The roster turnover won't be as drastic as if a Mike McCoy came in with a new passing system, and new running scheme.

The biggest disappointment EVER, was when Whiz came to the desert and I thought, "FINALLY, smash mouth football." and it never came. If never came close. They could never run the ball, and passed all the time....just never liked that. Ever.

With Arians, (talk about setting myself up again) I would expect for the ball to be thrown all over the place. I would be surprised to see a running back taken before the 3rd round while he is hear, and if he has the control to do that.

Don't think of Whiz when thinking of Arians, think of Tom Moore from Indy and the offense they ran with Peyton, and later Andrew Luck.

Makes sense why he was snatched up by the Colts.

We will see, but those are my predictions based on what I think.

With his vertical passing attack it would seem like available guys like Kolb, Alex Smith, Matt Flynn, Brian Hoyer, aren't very good fits.

Saw a couple people mention that Glennon probably fits his scheme best of all the QBs in the draft.

Actually, the guy who physically matches Big Ben the closest is (fanfare):

John Skelton.

And the scary thing is, he may well be the starter to enter the season. It's a weak QB class and a weak QB FA crop.

Eh, it scares me, but you know I'd be right there with Arians, getting behind Skelton again :)

Not as scary as getting behind Whisenhunt and his decisions for another season.

He has the same offense as Whiz, basically. Same route trees, same philosophy, just different terminology.

We hired a fat Ken Whisenhunt.

Well, I have to admit, and I am horrible for saying this, that while I was never high on the Suck for Luck situation.

I wouldn't be too out of sorts, if we got the first pick next year, and picked up Teddy Bridgewater.

That kid is very, very special, IMO. Worth a year of pai.....well actually I have been through some bad seasons, so I can easily watch 2-14 team if it gets us Bridgewater.

As for John Skelton...who knows. Maybe he plays well enough to be called Double Deuce once again !............and maybe not.

He's got alot of game film to watch on our QBs and/or potential QBs this off season. Im sure if he's got an issue with any of them, they wont be long for this team. MB proved to me with this hire and the firing of Whif, he's gonna do whatever it takes to get a winning team next season. This offense is gonna move, finally. And Im sure Fitz will be happy with the pass happy Arians.

Rothlisberger really liked Arians but did not like Whisenhunt and was glad to see him go. His best years were with Arians.

Yeah that was funny in the presser. But I do like 2 tight ends, especially with our line. Whiz had some success with it at the beginning of the year with Kolb in there but strayed away from it as the year played out. Same with play-action, I hope this Arians offense utilizes what we have.

Over in the "main" Cardinals forums before I was banned(lol), I was always preaching the double TE offense as being the offense that this team needed to run. Of course, I was bashed(as usual) and told I'm just a fan who don't know anything.

The double TE set has numerous advantages. With a TE on each side, you're more unpredictable. Your running game can go to either side. You can play-action well from this formation. Don't be surprised if we draft Tyler Eifert.

I love the two TE set. Eifert would be awesome. But out oline needs to be fixed.

I now think we'll draft Tyler Bray or Glennon. Arians throws the ball downfield and those two have the biggest arms and are big guys in general. Tyler Wilson does not seem like a fit for Arians offense because he's not as sturdy as those two to take all the hits they will eventually be exposed to.

I'll be happy with either one of those two.

???

Geno seems to have by far the best deep ball of any QB prospects. He can throw it deep and accurate.

Could take a qb on 2nd round, several should be available. I think Keim will work well with Arians on the draft.

It's widely accepted that Bray has the best "NFL" arm in the group. He just has other issues like being inconsistent. But all the QB's have issues.
