The next LT (as he was called by many this offseason) ?

He at least has 1 sack in 3 games: http://www.nfl.com/player/o'brienschofield/496851/profile

Just like Acho did.

To be fair on this point, Schofield has been on the field for only 82 defensive snaps (48% of SEA's total). Acho...

Whoa... Acho has only been on the field for 51% of our defensive snaps? Fewer than Matt Shaugnessy, but more than Lorenzo Alexander (who has only been on the field for 74 total snaps?!).

Awesome free agency, awesome talent accumulation. Maybe it's not that big a deal that these guys got injured.

Big props to Urban and Somers for letting us know about this.

115 passes to 67 rushes - if we refuse to practice the run and concentrate on practicing 3rd and longs even more-
WE might blow chunks for yards -
Or simply pass ourselves to death-

Does anybody believe- our defense is suppose to be tired?

The Saints had 24 runs and 46 passes and they beat the crap out of us. Especially in the 4th quarter. We held the Rams to 2.8 yards per carry rushing and they beat us in the 4th quarter.

Run the ball. Stop the Run. Finish last. The modern NFL.

I can understand it with Boldin but I don't hear anyone talking about missing Rolle anymore since he isn't doing much of anything in NY.

I've wanted to post a couple times about Rolle, but obviously his name doesn't come up alot. I think he and Boldin were huge losses when it comes to leadership and their swagger. I hate the word swagger as much as anyone, but I'll try and explain a bit.

Our defense with Rolle wasn't good by any means and he wasn't worth the money he ended up getting, but that dude had a swagger on D that we still don't have. He'd stink for an entire drive, then pick it off and return it for a TD.

I find it amusing that myself and others, at the time and afterwards, claimed we had kept our core group necessary to be successful, because it's become clear the core was actually Dansby, Rolle, Boldin, even Smith to some degree, even Edge to some degree, etc. Those were the guys providing leadership and swagger on both sides of the ball.

I'd have to say that the 2004-2005 combination of draft picks and free agents was the best in the history of the Arizona Cardinals.

I'm crediting Steve Keim Super Scout. :p

I only heard a quick blurb so correct me if I don't get this right, didn't Rolle just call out his team in the media for not having each others backs? I miss Rhodes far more than I miss Rolle.

Back to the OP, I kinda agree with Cheese at this point but I'm a bit conflicted. At times BA makes me smile or laugh and at times I think he comes across as a blowhard. He does come across much more like Rex Ryan than Bellicheat. :D

Always liked BA as an OC, just don't see him as a successful HC. His personality is what it is, he is a blowhard. All this being said, it's too early to judge him. It sounds to me that Keim has already indicated that he has a 3 year plan. I won't judge him by what comes out of his mouth, but by what happens on the field. I really feel that we too many guys on this roster that are not nauseated with losing. Until that changes, we will continue to lose. We need to continue to purge & bring in guys that would rather die than lose. That's what Seattle did.

3 year plan? Forget it. It only took Whisenhunt 9 weeks to turn things around in Arizona. (Of course it only took them 9 weeks in the Spring of 2010 to turn them back again. :( ) What guys do we need to purge? The core of the team are mostly guys who played in the Super Bowl and the 2009 playoffs. Obviously they know how to win. I don't know maybe they've decided to retire in place or something since they've already won. But we've already replaced half the roster from last year.

It's a head scratcher for sure but I guess like 82 wrote look at the logo on the helmet. New guys immediately grow 10 thumbs and 2 left feet when they sign with Arizona.

If I'm in my first tenure as a head coach, I look around...see what some of the most successful guys are doing, and I emulate them as much as possible.

This is clearly not Arians MO, because at this point, he comes across closer to Buddy Ryan than say.... Belicheck.

Less talking, more walking please.

:thumbup: This. Nothing more to say.

I put BA into the category of Denny Green, Buddy Ryan, Cardinals coaches. Maybe not quite and blustery as Ryan but definitely overconfident like both of them. If the team continues to flounder it just comes off as ridiculous. Its even worse to lose when it comes with a lot of words that rarely get backed up.

Boy, have times changed. I remember when a coach used to have a 5 year plan. Now, we're making judgments based on 3 games.

I was in favor of keeping Whiz(and, since he got a mention, Rolle for that matter :D) but I like what I have seen from Arians so far. I though he abandoned to early last game but, overall, I have liked the way the games have been called.

Defensively, I'm okay with it to this point. They haven't been great and haven't been terrible. They've faced 2 of the better offensive teams in NO and Detroit, and haven't been overwhelmed.

5 year plans went out the window with the start of free agency. In fact there was some guy on the radio this week talking about how some large % of coaches who have won a SB in the last few years made the playoffs in their first or 2nd year.

With free agency you just don't have time for 5 or even 3 year plans.

oops

The Saints we are NOT! Our defense is tired- pass game causes way more turnovers than rushing the ball- TURNOVERS AND NEGATIVE PLAYS INCLUDING PENALTIES determine the outcome of most NFL Games- modern or old school.

You can not depend on PLAY ACTION until you establish the run-

I blame BA for the soft camp at UofP - no run practice- all passing practice-leading to team that is not prepared to play NFL football- we are destroyed by injury- before or 4th game.

Makes me sick sitting here listening to BAs post game presser.

Acting nonchalant and like everything is breezy and it was a great game. That was putrid out there, you no offense having dinosaur.

This is exactly what he always no does. No worries. Naw, our oline will be fine going into the season. Everything is dandy.

We cant grow and improve if the problems arent addressed, and this guy acts like we are superbowl bound just because we picked up a hollow W in a disturbingly ugly game

What coach doesn't sound positive after a win? Do you honestly believe that just because an issue isn't being talked about in a press conference that it isn't something they are trying to fix? I suppose they view game tape every week just for entertainment purposes...

I think they tried to address it. Cooper was drafted #1 and got hurt. Ish Happens. Injuries are part of the game. I don't mind a coach speaking his mind. He turned the roster over this year and rolled the dice where some positions that couldnt be fixed in one season.
I would have liked to keep Horton but we didnt. No one can say last hears D was built to last and would have done great things this year. There were old guys and they get slower. I will take 7 more of these meaningless wins...and slide into the playoffs. We are barely competitive on the road. I will take wins any way we can get them while traveling. Win the home games....I rather enjoyed my sporting weekend Big Red Win, Birds on the Bat best record in baseball and home field throughout playoffs, Mizzou undefeated, and ASU wins. Arians can say what ever he wants. Win ugly with this group is ok by me. Just win enough of them ugly.

Any road win in the NFL is a good win and just because he doesn't whine to the press doesn't mean he isn't addressing the team's problems. I've heard his press conferences earlier where he has said that 3rd down has been a problem on both sides of the ball. That continued to today but that doesn't mean they're not trying to address it.

Baltimore= road loss
Cincy= road loss
Dallas= road loss
Chicago road loss
Seattle= road......well a road loss until Schaub did his best Jake Plummer impression. How can a veteran QB throw that pass?
