So much for the phrase, "Behind every great man is a great woman."

And now it is coming out that they would have acted sooner but Jerry was threatening the team....

Sources tell PhillyVoice: Part of delay in Sixers process was due to pressure from Jerry Colangelo, who threatened to damage team relationships in the event Bryan was fired.

Wow. Guess I am going to have to change my screen name after all these years. I totally believe BC did not know. But I also believe that the damage in relationships would make his continued employment problematic.

Sure her opinions would be influenced by Bryan, but to say that she could not have her own opinions or that he had to know is not true at all. Yes, what I said about some comments here being sexist struck a nerve. Just know that that is how they would be received by many of the gender not represented on this board.

Find a wife or girlfriend, especially one that is really into basketball, and run the idea that it had to be him--couldn't have been her only--by that person and see how it goes.

I ran it by my wife and daughters (all adults and college educated) and that is how they perceived it. I was just relating their opinion.

If he's guilty and he's just using her to minimize the damage done to him, then yes, he is throwing her under the bus. If he's actually innocent though, I'd say his comment was more about pulling together as a family (supporting her) than it is about pushing her into the path of a bus.

No one said it couldn’t only be her or that she couldn’t have her own opinions. What mostbsaid was that he either knew or his loose lips were the source of information which damns him. Stop trying to create gender-related controversy where ZERO exists. YOU are the ONLY one that brought gender into this. If the genders were reversed in this situation everyone’s opinions would be the same.

And I have no doubt your wife and daughters agreed with you because YOU fran d the question/argument.

You mean a wife has no opinion about basketball apart from her husband? All she is is her husbands robot? A woman cannot make comments about basketball even if she has been immersed in it her whole life. BC’s wife was the one who urged him to hire McD because she was a fan of his in Italy. The woman is a basketball super fan.

You guys are sounding pretty sexist actually. #metoo is coming. I am not a BC fan so I don’t care if he gets fired or not. But saying his wife could not have done this without his knowledge is really misogynistic.

LOL others have already addressed your ridiculous accusation of sexism.

My point is that comments made were obviously made with someone with direct experience, not a husband OR wife.

His wife just owned up to it to try and save his butt. She's his ride or die, and good on her for trying to fall on her husband's sword, but I'm not buying it in the slightest.

As a married man, there is simply no way she was arguing with people and not retelling those arguments to her husband

Just asked my wife. "Can you see a wife arguing secretly and supporting her husband on twitter and not telling her husband about it?"

Her answer, "Of course, why? Can't you?"

Just sayin. Curious what your wives would say.

Bryan is an idiot and sounds like he is having her throw herself on the sword. I would like more detail on Jerry's involvement though.

If Jerry was reacting to Bryan's side of the story I don't have a problem with him doing right by his son if he bought Bryan's side of the story. If Jerry knew that Bryan was guilty as hell and chose to use his influence to coerce the organization that is completely different IMO. I would lose a ton of respect for him.

Colangelos are basically toxic now. No NBA player is going to trust BC. No team is going to put up with threats about destroying relationships if you fire a family member.

I don't have to ask. I hear about every single argument my wife has had regardless of platform.

The JC part is the most disturbing part of the story to me. I was my son’s employer at one time. You can’t, you just can’t argue for special treatment.

But there is a “family” godfather type of persona to JC. I hope he does not destroy his reputation in his twightight years.

Sorry.

I guess it goes to show that they are not all the same. I do a lot of marital counseling. I have ceased to be shocked at all the incredible stuff wives do without their husband’s knowledge. 30, 40, 50 k credit card balances and he did not even know she had the card. Calling HR at his work and reporting stuff on his coworkers without his knowledge. Trying to get his friends fired so he won’t drink with them any more. It’s just amazing.

The “secret advocate” wives are the worst. They are insecure about their husbands job and his abilities, so they try to help behind the scenes without his knowledge. I have seen moms do this with their kids too. Some men too.

It’s not just an isolated incident. This is a “thing” that happens fairly often.

That' my point. If Bryan goes to Jerry and says...."dad I didn't do this, the organization is trying to railroad me", then Jerry defends him I have zero issues with that.

The narrative is completely different if Jerry knew Bryan was guilty and acted like the Godfather.

I don't know about you but most of us parents would side with our kids and take their word for it unless presented with evidence of the contrary.

Maybe ... but not if it means Bryan, too. Which, history shows, would most likely be the case.

The Suns are in a great position to look ahead. Even Sarver seems to be keeping his ego in check. The Suns are in a position they've never been in.

A new image is on the horizon. Let's stop looking back.

P.S.: Just for the record, I cringe every time I see Bryan referred to as BC. Those are my initials and I had them decades before Bryan. :)
