My take on the Bubble Boys in tonight's game are as follows:

Defense:
DL-Robinson (97)
LB-Brown (50); Walker (56); Togafu (95)
DB-Green (30); Johnson (49); Abdullah (41)
I expect the bubble to burst for three or four of the above.

Offense:
OL-Claxton (62); Johnson (67)
WR-Komar (18); Jones (17); Roberts (12)
TE-Dray (81); Becht (84)
Same expectation as above. But I do think that the final PS game will play a big part in determining who stays and who goes.

I have heard nothing but good things about Dray. Why should he be on the bubble? Patrick is the onw who can`t stay on thre field.

I don't think Robinson has been outplayed by anybody, yet. He won't be going anywhere.

I'd have to disagree. In the replays I have watched Watson and Ddub2 have been able to clog the middle, at times drawing double teams, much better than Robinson who is usually getting pushed around by one blocker.

Couple of points:
1. Patrick does have an injury history, but is considered by most to be our best TE. Dray has had a good PS, but if he stays either Becht, Spach or Patrick must go. I'm guessing Becht.
2. Robinson seems to be liked by the coaches, but I haven't seen/heard that he has had a good PS. Most say he was outplayed by Watson and Williams. But the coaches like him.

Keeping a 35 year old NT who gets bullied would be dumb.Bryan Robinson might be a great guy and sounds like a future coach,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,keeping him over a younger player with upside wouyld be foolish.

one of the offensive linemen would seem to be on the bubble. Would it be Reggie Wells as yesterday's rumor would suggest.

So being liked by the coaches matters more than production? How many times last season did people say where was Bryan Robinson? Did he even play?So now he is a year older and the coaches like him.Well whoopdy doo.

I'd be pretty surprised if Cody Brown is on the bubble, he may not be an impact player yet he still seems raw, but he's too athletic for them to consider dumping him this early in his career.

I think he'll make the team and he'll be used more and more as the year goes on.

Agreed. Coach Wiz knows just how long it takes for a pass rusher to develop. He saw what it took for Harrison, Woodley, Berry, and so on.

Yeah... I think that he just needs to show something, though. I think that both Urban and Somers have commented that Brown is increasingly marginalizing himself.

The team'll likely only keep 4 OLBs going into the season. I don't know of Stevie Baggs has shown enough to fight for PT in the base defense, but Brown needs to at least show some special teams value, because Baggs has apparently been getting a lot of action there, and joe seems to think that Baggs won't accept a practice squad slot.

Tend to agree. But Urban in his blog specifically mentioned that Brown would be under the spotlight/microscope this game. Hinted that he needed to show something.

Agreed he's not a lock even as a 2nd rounder, but because he missed last season with injury I think the coaches fully expect him to be behind where he should be in his 2nd year. Add in the athletic talent and I think he sticks.

But you're right that he'll have to be able to play ST.

I hope you guys are correct about Cody Brown, but I haven't seen anything, yet. Who knows what the coaches see in practice.

I really haven't seen the athletic talent. I'm not sure the coaches have, either. You'd think that at some point instincts would take over and he'd make a move, but he's invisible out there in the base defense and we haven't seen much from him on special teams, either.

Coach only mentioned one player, I am sure there are 40 others in the same boat. Needing to show something doesnt mean they are about to be cut it could just as easily be a depth chart issue. Not to mention this is classic Wiz player strategy. We have heard him do this tactic many times with many players - Toler, Branch, Watson, Lutui, Keith, Rashad Johnson just this year. I dont think we can read to much into that comment in this case, its just Wiz MO concerning players he thinks can be good, he doesnt usually make those comments about players he doesnt think have it.

I really haven't seen the athletic talent.

I have without a doubt against Houston. He played very well including the small things. Dropped off into coverage well, strung along run plays to the outside by using some strength to set the edge, and so on. I think when coach says he wants to see something from Brown he wants to see a second performace of the Houston game, meaning more consistency.

I am far more worried about Will Davis who I am not sure has even played a single snap it seems like.

I think Baggs has actually shown more then the both of them, at least more consistently. In the small sample size we have that is.

I'm going off earlier reports from Mid August where Urban and others said Whiz specifically commented about Brown starting to show some pass rush skills in practices.

I agree he hasn't really shown alot in games yet, but I think the staff realizes missing last season set back his development.

I suspect he's competing with Baggs and I don't think Baggs is so good on ST that he'll make the roster just on that. If one of them steps it up tonight it could be a big deal for their future, but right now I figure Brown makes it.

Agreed. He was getting big kudos in practice earlier during camp and he had a pretty darn good game against Houston. Was in on a lot.
