man, I been back and forth on trading Baker over the years. But dude is playing balls out this season... since he is getting older and we want to build something..might as well keep him til the end if for no other reason than to demonstrate loyalty.
Im not saying 8 more years or anything...but at least until we are sure the tank is empty

Not that safeties are hard to find and I do like what I’ve seen from rabbit so far but Jalens contract is up next year. If we trade Buddha and let Jalen walk we are losing two of our best defenders. The team needs talent somewhere, I’m definitely more pro keeping baker around than I was last season.

Rather trade him a year early than a year late. He's ballin' right now but he's also not a spring chicken anymore.

BUT, if they keep him that's OK too. Just don't give him some outlandish new contract after this year please.

That’s kind of been a problem with this organization we hold onto players longer than we should… Loyalty is overrated. This is a business, and the players would leave in a second if they can improve their situation.

I generally agree with getting rid of a guy a year early. But Baker is a team leader that personifies everything we want from a player...dude is like a team mascot. showing him some loyalty shows the young guys that buying in pays off.
Larry wasnt so good the last couple seasons. But I was still sad to see him go... while not quite "Larry" Budda holds a similar status in the clubhouse and on the field..
and most of those guys we held on to too long were free agents... not home grown Cardinals

100% this

It's a business first and foremost
