With the waiver of Weems, why not Chase Budinger? The Suns have been looking for a SF since the 2015 free agency period. He is clearly experienced and hopefully still athletic. Also he is only 27.

The Suns reportedly plan to sign him once he clears waivers. I think he will stick with the Suns not only this season but beyond this season.

Former popular Wildcat that may have something left and could also maybe increase the fan attendance even if its a tiny bit.

Here are the stats on Budinger in the link below. Also being a former UA player doesn't hurt. It seems Budinger did not fit well with Indiana although I did not watch him play. He can hit the 3-point shot although he did not shoot it well this season.

I was reading about Budinger's knee injuries which tempers my enthusiasm a bit but the Suns will have an opportunity to give him a test drive the rest of the season. He does fill a need at SF.

I thought PHX was interested a couple years ago but Budinger signed elsewhere.

I'm curious if the Suns are interested in signing another player because they had an open roster spot without waiving Weems. However, it could be the Suns wanted to clean up the roster. It was increasingly clear the Suns did not plan to bring back Weems next season.

Nice I always liked Buddinger as a bench player.

This solidifies our SF position for next season.

If we are not forced to pick a SF high we can just keep

Warren/Tucker/Buddinger at the 3.
Booker/Goodwin/Jenkins at the 2. Knight as well and Bogdanovic possibility
Bledsoe/Knight/Price at the 1.

IMO, nothing is pointless, as this team should be doing its due diligence to see if anyone is worth keeping beyond this season. Same reason why I'm saying the team should kick the tires on Anthony Bennett.

Literally no risk if these players are signed only for the rest of the season.

I had this feeling because the Suns waived Weems when the Suns already had a roster spot open even if they sign Budinger.

I thought we would hear today but I have not heard anything about Budinger signing with the Suns as yet. Maybe he is exploring other options, discussing contract negotiations or pending a physical.

The talk was he would clear waivers on Monday. I have no doubt you are correct (there is no indication he has signed yet) but do you have a link?

In any regard the Suns are expected to sign Budinger for the rest of the season today (Tuesday). It may have taken all day Monday for him to clear waivers.

I forgot about the Adrian Peterson thing.
