Bulger out 3-6 weeks following Cards game.

Now, I don't say he's completely done as an NFL QB. He's taken a ridiculous amount of abuse for the last several years, and given some time to recover, it wouldn't surprise to see him bounce back for a couple seasons in the right situation.

The Rams should stick him on IR and take the opportunity to just move on. Nobody is going to gain anything by running him out there again.

I couldn't understand why the Rams coach didn't pull Bulger out of the game. It was obvious that he was hurt. The coach has to protect his players when hurt.

I doubt the Giants would want to replace Carr with Bulger, but him becoming a Cardinal isn't exactly implausible.

If the Cardinals decide to part ways with Leinart, and I certainly wouldn't want to bet against that, the Cardinals would need a good backup. (Assuming Warner returns for next season, and I firmly believe he will.)

Bulger, when playing well, has a number of Warner's strengths. He's very accurate, and he gets rid of the ball quickly. It's always nice to not have to completely change your approach if the backup comes in. Plus, he's always gotten along with Warner and doesn't have a huge ego. He collapsed over the last few seasons because the talent around him has been bad, particularly the line in front of him. Right now, his footwork isn't at all good. He used to be Warner's superior in mechanics. Not now.

I'm not saying that he's going to recover. I do think there's a pretty decent chance. I'm also not saying that the Cardinals should sign him if they get rid of Leinart, but it's an intriguing idea.

D. McNabb; he played with a broken ankle and still beat us.

Strangely enough, after the play that broke his leg, the Cardinals never really applied any pressure to him the rest of the game.

If Bulger doesn't get any interest, which would surprise me by the way if he didn't, if I were the Cardinals I would look into it, especially if Warner retires next offseason.

He would fit our system, that is for sure, but he would have to beat out Leinart.

Bulger isn't a world-beater but he is a very solid veteran QB. If he's put in the right situation and/or willing to be a backup on a good team he could have a future still.

With Batch's age and continued injury problems I could see Bulger going to Pittsburgh to back up Roethlisberger. He played college ball in WV so it would almost be like a home-coming for him and he's be a hell of an insurance plan for the Steelers.

Yep. Especially there at the end it was clear Bulger had taken some kind of injury...I thought he had a concussion the way his eyes were looking.

If Bulger could take some time to heal up, maybe be a 2nd string for a bit and regain his confidence, he can still be a very good QB in this league.

I would not have any problem bringing him in to back up Warner if the Leinart era isn't going to work out.

Uh... more than almost like a homecoming. Bulger was born in Pittsburgh and went to high school there. (Same school as Dan Marino.)
