"There indeed has been talk of scuttling the Wonderlic test after some of the scores turned out a bit too good to be true. Rumor has it a few clever agents somehow obtained copies of the exam and fed the correct answers to their players. No one is naming names, but fairly or unfairly, there is such a shroud of suspicion about some scores that several teams, including the Bears, list a zero by the names of some players instead of accepting their marks. "We're not minimizing when a guy does really well that he isn't intelligent,'' Angelo said, "but some of those scores, you roll your eyes about because there are so few that can score to the marks that some of these guys are getting. Go back over 20 years, and it's a small percentage."

Explains HIGH scores

So, does that mean then that Taylor's agent (for example) got a copy of the test and gave him all of the WRONG answers.

Sure, it's probably possible to cheat on the test and you have to take some of the higher scores with a grain of salt. But this news really has no impact on the low end of the scale. If you score a 6 and I cheat to score a 38 instead of the 21 I might have gotten honsestly, it doesn't change the fact you got a 6. It's not like the test is graded on a bell curve.

You can make arguments about why a player got a low score (not caring, bias, etc.), but this isn't it.

I'd be suspicious of any WR, RB or QB who scored high on the test. Nobody that size with even a shred of intelligence would participate in an event where they were being chased by 6'4" 300lb men intent on crushing them. :D

The wonderlic test does NOT measure intelligence. Or predict football or non-football success.

Since you've thrown this everytime it's come up I am going to call you on it.

Prove it man. Prove it.

And no, saying Dan Marino and Phil Simms will not cut the mustard.

Go get all the Wonderlic scores, rate all the players as successful or not, do some regressions AND PROVE THERE IS NO CORRELATION.

And before you take the weak stance of attacking me or telling me to prove it measure intelligence I will remind you that when you're the one making claims, the burden of proof is on YOU.

I haven't stated either way what the Wonderlic proves, or if it proves anything at all. I don't know.

But if you're going to walk around here and claim it's FACT. Do us all a favor and back it once in awhile.

I try and back up everything I say with some sort of factual evidence, but you make this claim, and tons of others, mostly with no facts.

Just do me a favor, and PROVE IT.

And please, it's not like I am trying to rip on you, I know it's already fashionable here to do so, but when you're gonna holler up and down whenever the word "wonderlic" comes up, back it up.

Saying Dan Marino Culpepper and Simms proves the football part.

Simms and Marino's business success proves it outside of football.

And as for intelligence. Well read the test questions then look at how psychologists define intelligence.

It's there for you to put it together if you want. I don't have the time to do a paper proving it.

Well I scored high enough on my Wonderlic, just ask my wife, to know how to do a basic web search.

Note that they refer to it as an Intelligence test. I would imagine they know more about the test than most people.

Come back again anytime.

Yeah you did exactly what I thought you would. Saying Dan Marino, Culpepper and Simms doesn't prove jack **** dude.

There have been THOUSANDS of players that have taken the Wonderlic, you single out THREE examples from an entire sample population of THOUSANDS.

I can find three people that survived cancer. Does that prove that cancer is 100% survivable? By your insane logic, it does. Because you have three examples in a sample of thousands.

Hell, Duckjake could take five seconds and use a search engine to find some stuff.

You're so incapable of backing up what you say you couldn't even do that.

Nothing you ever say will have any weight behind it now in my eyes, and I am beggining to understand why other feel the same way.

You basically just did EXACTLY what any person with a weak argument does, immediately put the burden of proof on the person who asks for proof. I mean damn dude, I said before hand I wasn't gonna take that for an answer but apparently you don't care about your credibility.

Edit: Tried to BIM proof myself.

Hey I am right. If you don't believe me fine. Don't believe anything I say. You will miss out on a lot of good stuff. By the way whenever someone does prove me wrong. I IMMEDIATELY admit and change my position. I changed my position on Shelton simply based on what people told me.

The fact that those 3 made it says enough for me. Others I know who had low wonderlic Bulger.

Apply principles of Logic! and common sense!

"If Player X has a low wonderlic he can't be a football player especially not a QB."
Well Players A, B, and C had low wonderlics and were great QBs.

That is good enough for me. If not for you fine.

I made my case you DISPROVE it. If YOU CAN I will change my position heck I changed my position on Shelton simpley on people's word.

What kind of business success have Marino and Simms had? They're ex-jocks talking about football on TV.

I don't see where this is winning you any points in your arguement. Maybe if you watched Shelton play, and then changed your position on observation and deduction, I could see it. But saying "people said it, and I believed it," doesn't score you any points in my book. In fact, I'm taking some away. You're at -3, now.

;)

...seriously, -2.

Yeah and low wonderlic didn't stop them from doing that did it? They do have to talk, analyze etc.

The Shelton thing> people broke him down for me who did watch him play.
The breakdown was detailed and also fairly unaninmous. It is not the split there is on someone like Pace. When I watch him I can change my mind.

You are +1 in my books your avatar is the best one I have ever seen.
