I'm certainly not the expert, but the thing I like about Stanton is that he looks poised. He doesn't look scared and his pocket awareness improved from the Giants game to the 49ers game. He takes hits and he gets right back up. He makes bad throws and he's not afraid to try that throw again. Many backups are the exact opposite. It may be naive but I'm looking for him to grow even more in this game. He just doesn't seem to be intimidated and that counts for a lot.

This is a "big stage" game so we'll see, but last week was too. If he improves this week, I'll feel even more comfortable. Like someone said, there will be tape on him and the Broncos will try to exploit his weaknesses, but we have tape too and I feel confident that Arians will put him in the best position to be successful. Again, he's not Manning, but the game just doesn't seem too big for him.

I'd put him on the lower level of "OK" in that he hasn't done much to win games, but he's managed not to lose them so far against two pass defenses that are actually pretty good--NYG and San Francisco both have higher passing DVOAs than we do.

Still, his completion percentage is too low, and two TDs in two games is hardly a sustainably winning pace.

Two game snap shots arent enough to make a full judgement nor enough to call other people out for having faith and liking how well he has played so far though.

At this point he is playing like alex smith usually does, manage the game, dont make mistakes, put your team in the position to win.

Olive Garden sucks unless one has no idea what good Italian food taste like. Plus they give some of the smallest servings on the planet and charge you out the butt for it. Ok... now let's talk about something far more important, having to bear the excruciating whiny arrogant expressions of John Fox lol

IMO ive never ate at an italian resteraunt and been wowed by it. The italian recipes I make at home are always better. Olive garden is on par with everywhere I have gone. Some places will be slightly better but not good enough to make me look down on another place.the portions are usually bigger than I can finish.

I hate Red Lobster because they support clubbing baby harp seals.

Why would you eat at a place that would hurt this guy?

They club baby seals off of Alaska.

The difference, you may ask?

These baby seals are black.

IMO based off of that he shouldnt even be a backup until the nerve has cooperated for 3-5 straight days with no issues. We cant have him have one good day, throw him out there and have the nerve go back to sleep mid game.

agreed. im not a doctor but I cant help wonder if the nerve "going back to sleep" was in some way related to him throwing deep balls ( 30-40 yrds ) last week.

He needs to let that thing heal heal heal. Stanton can beat the raiders and skins, Denver might have to be a forfeit. Just don't get hurt. The offensive line has their work cut out for them protecting drew.

By all means Drew, go out and kick the broncos ass and become the next Kurt Warner though..hahahaha. I just cant hold my breathe waiting for that though.....but I do have confidence in his ability to keep games close and put it in the hands of the defense, maybe Bruce arians can call the game of his life and pull this off. Cant wait to find out!

OK this is going way off topic but because i care about animal welfare i wanted to figure how how the heck Red Lobster "support clubbing baby harp seals."

In fact, they have nothing to do with clubbing baby harp seals, but there is a campaign to boycott companies that buy Canadian seafood in order to (VERY) indirectly pressure the Canadian government to put an end to the (UTTERLY DESPICABLE!) seal hunt for the fur trade.

http://www.humanesociety.org/issues/seal_hunt/tips/seafood_boycott_success.html

Perhaps this is a worthwhile campaign in light of the fact that nothing else seems to be making a difference, but it is a far cry from Red Lobster supporting clubbing baby seals!

I'm not sure what I'm more distraught about: Palmer's injury or the thought of lobsters clubbing seals!

To be fair, it is a damn good salad. ;)

Yes it is!

Palmer shouldn't been a backup. He shouldn't even suit up. If Stanton goes down, play Thomas. This game is really not as important if we win or lose. For me, I would love a win, but a lose is still not a back breaker for a playoff spot. Don't throw Palmer out there and have him regress again for this game. Give him more time to heal.
