Hearing #Cards QB Carson Palmer will seek another opinion regarding the nerve issue in his throwing shoulder. Arians presser at 12:15 today.
Well this is ominous...
Arizona Cardinals @AZCardinals 4m4 minutes ago
Arians: QB Carson Palmer has been excused from Wednesday practice so he can see a specialist about his shoulder.
Darren Urban @Cardschatter 13m13 minutes ago
BA: No concern about Palmer being long-term injury. At least not yet. Always could go IR-to return if needed.
Darren Urban @Cardschatter 17m17 minutes ago
BA: Palmer threw a bunch Thursday and Friday and regressed.
Darren Urban @Cardschatter 10m10 minutes ago
BA: Logan Thomas has shown more accuracy in practice. Arians said Cards don't really have emergency QB.

Great point! There are plenty of mid average experienced QB's we could go after. Maybe that's why the Cards just cut a player today??
This game is important and its not important at the same time. If we win, then we are a dominate team and will be finally reconized as one. If we lose, its not going to hurt our chances to make the playoffs at all. So if they have to sit Palmer for one more game, I am totally fine with that as I have faith that Stanton will at least give us a good game(win or lose).
Now, if this game is a absolute blow out, if the cards play horribly, it could damage the psyche of the players and we end up going down the 2012 hill of loses again. That right there is my main concern.
My concern as of right now is not the broncos game...but palmer being able to play this season. After the bronco game there a a few easy games for Stanton and the defense, but face it----if we have dreams of a deep playoff run aren't they with carson palmer?

It sure as heck is not looking very good. Bottom line is that its been 4 weeks since the injury and there is little improvement.
The first time I heard his injury described I was concerned. Anyone who has hurt a nerve like that knows it can take a LONG time to heal.
His second opinion is either because:
1. The team wants him to go on IR and he thinks he will get better enough to play this season.
or
2. The team doctor thinks he is ready and Palmer thinks he isn't.
If I had to guess, I would pick #1.

if stanton can keep playing like he has been, we are fine. The question is IF.
I can't tell why you guys think that Stanton has been anything more than below-average. Is your gauge so skewed from watching terrible quarterbacks before the last nine games of last year?
Really more important that getting Kirk Cousins-level play from under center is that our running game MUST get untracked. We're above-average in every phase of the game except running the ball. Part of that is that we're getting nothing from Jonathan Dwyer and the supporting cast, but Ellington hasn't been the player he was last year, either.
Carson May be finished, IMO. His injury sounds a lot like the one that happened to Mean Joe Greene 1/2 way through his career and it NEVER came back.
This seriously sucks!??

I never said he wasn't above average. I feel he can mange a game enough to win. I don't think he is elite, but I do think we can count on him to win games.
Since when is "good" the same as "average"? Do you guys all eat at Olive Garden, or something?
Do you really think that Stanton is "above average"? Really?!
