Cam Newton should've asked Derek Anderson to do the post game press conference. He would have taken it seriously.

All I know is Cam made a statement that if other teams don't like how they celebrate stop them. Denver did that big time. I guess Cam never actually thought about how he would react if a team actually hammered them. I think in his mind he thought no team could do to them what the Bronco defense did. He should have ran that scenario through his mind. This is not an apology for his actions either in the game nor in the presser. I actually think the guy thought they were unstoppable and when Denver put a hurting on them he could not believe it actually happened. So what does he do, he reverts back to Cam 2014 we all saw. The moody, childish, immature Cam Newton. His true colors showed through. Cam and his teammates had a lot of good times putting it in the face of other teams until it turned on them.

interesting. he's still a douche for how he was answering questions at the beginning, but do they really put players from opposing teams that close to together to answer questions after a game that big?

yea it was chris harris. Brian Dawkins pointed it out on ESPN yesterday as why Newton left

Still no excuse for what Newton did. Even if he heard what Harris said the coaching staff and himself should have expected what Denver was going to do. Denver did it and the Panthers did not adjust their game plan to counteract. I think Newton wanted to say they were outcoached but knew the criticism that would be directed at him for that so he kept quiet. But did the coaching staff fail to fall on a fumble when the game was still in doubt. That was all Newton's fault. He can shine in all the glory but when failure comes he turns into a pouty baby.

I dont get how you think he took your post the wrong way. You were saying that it's lame to bag on Cam when there are bigger transgressions that have happened but we're not talking about that because we want to be hip. Right? But not you, you are wise and mature for coming in here and setting us all straight for talking about it in this thread, the thread that you yourself have contributed several posts to.

Jeez. It's the internet. It just isn't that important.

I now see the problem is with my use of the word "hipster", which I guess people take as a slam. I meant that in the sense of "trendy" or "popular". When my teenage daughter, for the first time I can ever remember in my life, brings something up related to football and it is on this topic, I promise you, it is officially a "trendy" thing to talk about.

If Denver was discussing their game plan, Cam should have taken the opportunity to listen... The Broncos will probably be just as god next year.

Mike Shula, Ron Rivera and Cam Newton will be dealing with this abomination game for a long time. Cam may go down as one of the worst SB QB performances with this one. :D

Not even close. Off the top of my head Elway had 3 that were worse. Roethlisberger was awful in his first one and Rich Gannon I think threw 5 picks in one. Ouch.

As for Shula why he left his tackles on an island for most of the game we'll never know...

Cam's comment to his pouting during the post game conference-

"show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser"

I get it that it is the worst to lose and I'll be the first to admit- I hate losing! But there comes a time in life (especially this year for him) that you just need to suck it up and give credit when credit is due. If he went to the press conference and was humble about the loss and said we will be back next season, he would be looked at as a great MVP. Now to me, that award is tarnished because of how poor he acted. As much as I hate to say it, Russell Wilson was so classy last year when he was on his press conference after the loss to the Pats

50 SBs. Okay but bottom ten which fits for "one of the worst", not the worst.

ESPN's list of the 10 worst;

Manning one of the worst winning QB performances

Ahh, what?? That was officially the game changer in that game. He had a chance for it. The biggest game of the year and you are worried about getting hurt. Screw that, I'm doing whatever it takes to win. Maybe he had the feeling that they had no shot of winning at that point, so he says "nope, not worth it"

It's seemingly becoming more evident that Cam didn't stop being a sore loser and poor sport, but rather didn't have many opportunities to be one throughout the season.

If I'm a teammate hearing that he didn't try to recover his fumble for fear of injury, I'm livid.

Not sure if Cam is just an idiot or is simply selfish. This is a bad look, either way.

That kid is just digging himself a deeper hole with every thing he does.

What a convenient way to excuse your bad behavior. It's brilliant. I'd misjudged Cam. He obviously is setting his own, new "It's all about me" standards for spoiled-player behavior. Not only do you not have to apologize (obviously that's for losers too) when you act like a 6-year old, but you can diss the guys who have those old-fashioned values of being a good sport and taking it like a man.

Good thing Kurt is now in the booth and not on the field. He's soooooooo pre-Camberian.

If he actually said this then I hope he loses a majority of his games from now on. To say that makes him out to being a bigger jerk than I thought. He will get a pass from the fans in Carolina just because he wins games but there is something wrong with his character or the way he was raised to say something like that.

#1 excuse for not diving to recover his fumble......

if he goes into that pile 11 Broncos would have pile drove (drived?) him into oblivion. He was scared.

seriously... basically he's calling Russell Wilson, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, who have won 7 Super Bowls between them, yet ALL guys who in the last five years have lost Super Bowls in crushing fashion, losers because they actually were professional after their losses.
