Cam Heyward says Justin Fields will dominate with Jets after leaving Steelers

Cam Heyward made it clear who he originally preferred to be the 2025 starting QB of the Pittsburgh Steelers—and it wasn't Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers.

While appearing on The Rich Eisen Show, Heyward was asked to analyze what his former 2024 teammate and fellow Ohio State Buckeye alumni QB Justin Fields would be capable of with the Jets. The Steelers defensive lineman wasted little time singing the young QB's praises:

"First of all, Justin’s a class act. He’s a guy that works his tail off and wants to lead by example. I was kind of bummed it didn’t work out here. I thought we were going to have a chance to get him. But I know that dude’s going to dominate in New York. He’s going to give that team a good chance—between him and Garrett Wilson already having a relationship there is huge."

The Mike Tomlin-led Pittsburgh Steelers, along with Heyward, will get a chance to see the Fields–Wilson connection in person when the Black and Gold head to New York to take on the Jets in 2025.
