Giants & 49ers both was more successful passing than they did running in their playoff matchups against Green Bay....

I guess your forgetting Krap had nearly 200 yards rushing that day :p

Again wanting to go to possible 10 degree weather (or worse) with other bad possibilities is probably disaster.

Plus, the Gmen are from the East so they are used to cold & bad weather & if I remember correctly it wasn't too bad when the Niners played that game.

Look up the Cards record in adverse cold weather conditions since moving to AZ & I'm very sure it's pretty terrible. You do remember that day in NE on the way to the SB don't you ugh

Yes, it's not so much the team but the weather. If you took Aaron Rodgers and Cam Newton and switched teams, I'm still taking the game in Carolina every time.

I don't care what K9 cited reference their recent losses. Anyone choosing Lambeau in December and Aaron Rodgers over Cam Newton in Carolina needs their head examined :)

Straight insane. Do people who have these hot take opinions actually watch football? wtf.

a 10 year old could tell you that the Cardinals would rather play in Carolina at that time of year against Cam newton then Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau who until the Rams game hadnt thrown an INT in 26 games at home or something. And Cardinals playing in the snow? Jesus anyone remember the last snow game? 47-7.

I dont give a **** if the Panthers go undefeated and Cam Newton becomes a cross of Elway and Marino between now and then or what stats K9 pulls out of his sharepoint folder. We have beat them there when they have been favored before and last year we could have with ABL. No way no how should anybody think they would rather play GB then Carolina. FFS

Yeah, it is almost impossible to prepare yourself for the potential of that type of cold. Especially for a warm weather or dome team (which we happen to be both).

Hmm, let's see. Aaron Rodgers in arguably the coldest NFL venue in the league, or Cam Newton in mild weather Charlotte.

Oh, so I take it you would rather play against a great defense rather than a flawed pass-defense?

Strange.

The Panthers' 13th-ranked D has given up 350 yards per game. The Packers' 23rd-ranked D has given up 382. Not a massive, qualitative difference.

Looking at just pass D, the Panthers are 12th with 242 yards per game given up, 11 TDs allowed, 13 INTs, and 25 sacks. The Packers are 23rd with 257 yards, 10 TDs, 10 INTs, and 23 sacks.

Obviously strength of schedule, etc. factor in, but i don't see the big scary difference. Nor do i see Carolina as "great".

Kaep rushed for 98 yards on 7 carries/scrambles that day(You're probably thinking about their 2012 divisional matchup when he had a field day, IN SF, not GB), which was impressive, but Gore was the next leading rusher with 3.3 YPC, yikes.

Again, I love watching Aaron Rodgers play. He is my favorite non-Cardinal in the league, but stop acting like him & Green Bah are immortal at home in the playoffs. They're not. Which has been proven in the past 4 years.

Dude its a vet team, who has one playoff games, with the best QB in the game, who somehow gets even better at home......and it will be SNOWING in one of the best home field advantages of all time.

Its about matchups. We match up better with Panthers, they are a flawed team (beware betting in the playoffs on a team everyone expected to win 6 games but then gets hot in the regular season. Buyer beware) with a non big game coach (mccarthy isnt much better) with no weapons and a good but not great defense. Plus its like 50 degrees in Carolina which is hige for a team who plays in a dome and wins by passing the ball.

So yes. Yes I would.

Yes, he has won home playoff games, he has also lost home playoff games. 2-2 at home to be exact, while one of those was against a backup QB.
How do you know it will snow? Please enlighten me.

I'm not sure if we matchup all that well with Carolina because I'm not sure if we can handle mobile QBs like Cam. Cutler was running all over us before he got hurt, but I can guess we didn't game plan for Cutler scrambling. Now Kaep? The game was over before it even began. Let's wait & see after we play SEA since SEA & CAR are very similar on offense.

If Carolina is a flawed team, then what is Green Bay? Since that "flawed team" just beat Green Bay last Sunday.

my fear in playing in GB is two-fold. 1) I don't like possibly having to go to a frigid field to win a game and 2) We can't generate any of the same kind of pressure on Rodgers like Carolina and Denver did. That's why GB looked like crap in those games. We can barely sniff the QB and you give Rodgers a lot of time and I don't care how good our secondary is, he's going to carve them up.

I also feel like with Carolina, there's a larger chance for choke factor to come into play. That's a lot of pressure for a team who's never won much in the playoffs, as opposed to the Packers who are more battle tested when the chips are down.

This. Exactly. Good post Cheese.

The discussion is which would you prefer. Clearly its Carolina though thats no guarantee.

When you think about the playoff game last year, and how we actually had a brief lead over Carolina with one of the worst starting QBs in Cardinals history, I can't fathom why anyone would rather play Green Bay.

Panthers have peaked and frankly, is playing far better than its talent level. The team will win the division and get a bye, but I'm not buying betting on Cam and Riverboat Ron. Winning the championship.

Meanwhile, while Green Bay is struggling, it has shown that it can reshuffle and figure things out. I will never bet against Aaron Rodgers.
