It is obvious that he has lost a step or two, which makes me wonder if he no longer the threat he once was. I am not at the games so don't know if he is being double teamed often, or not. With Brown burning the safeties like he is, I can't see that any team would be double teams Fitz any longer. I just wonder if he is quick enough to get separation any longer.

It appears more and more as each game is played that I could have been right in calling for us to trade him 2 yrs ago when his value was still near the top. If that would have been a correct move or not, it does seem very true that he is way over paid now. I can't see him earning even 1/3 that much money each year now.

Time to review is contract situation and see if we can't cut him loose and save enough money for next year. A big faster draft pick at WR should seal his fate with the Cards, IMO. We all sure enjoyed his good years. But it is time to think more of the future regarding him from now on..

I am going to just enjoy Larry Fitz' time here, as I have been doing for years. He is a class act, and has still come up big at times in games this year. He's not what he once was, but he is the face of the franchise, and will get nothing but respect from me. At 3-0, I can't even begin to be worried about next year.

Maybe just me but I am still glad we have him. I did curse him horribly after his fumble today though. :)

Well, the fumble was right after a 25 yard gain, and that sick play where he took a HUGE hit from two guys, got knocked back 2 yards, and then proceeded to regain his balance and pick up the first down. Plus penalty. That bought us more clock. Larry gets a pass from me on that fumble after those efforts.

Fitz is a class act and contributes in many ways.

The fumble was huge, but the team seemed to rally around him.

The team will have to figure out what to do about his contract in the offseason.

Of course he can and he did so today. Watch the tapes if you can. The 9ers clearly made the decision. To bracket Fitz with a safety over the top. He was essentially double-teamed all day...

He still seems to get a lot of attention on defense but 20m is too much for a decoy. Best case is a paycut cause he's still good but I know that's not happening.

If we trade him to the Vikes how much will it hit our cap for?

Sissys like to cry, that might even be in the definition of sissy, but I won't look it up. I'm too busy dancing.

He's nowhere close to the player he used to be, but still an above average NFL receiver. He's can't do what Floyd and Brown do those are your big play guys now. He's going to have to take a major pay cut. The Cardinals have made him very rich over the years and were gonna see just how genuine his heart is this off season

I think your whole post is BS. Did you see when they threw to Fitz? On several of them he had 3 freaking guys on him. 3!! He was bracketed by a CB, Safety, and LB, at least. Then later they started bracketing Floyd. There's a reason Brown was wide open on both his TDs. On the last one Stanton pump faked underneath to Fitz, the safety bit and went up, and Brown was wide open. That's what happens when you play team ball.

None of those Brown TDs even happen without Fitz commanding all that coverage.

Yeah Fitz gained attention like DD does all game, makes a great play, and then gets crunched like everybody does, and then it goes from 'Where's Fitz" to "Fitz is toast". One play does not dictate, but fans are fickle as ****. Funk them.

I think he is still developing his timing with Stanton. I think a couple of times he was open, but the ball came out late. Fitz was a warrior though, he took a beating out there and kept going. I wouldn't dream of trading or cutting him this year. That being said if the Cards choose to move on next year, we are certainly in a better spot with the development of Floyd and Brown and the signing of Carlson.

They won't cut Fitz next year. I have a feeling Fitz will take a pay cut and stay with the team until he retires. He will also have a decent year this year also. Not sure if it will be a 1000 yrds season but he will have the ball a lot in the rest of the games. Just you watch. ;)

Come February 1, 2015, Fitz will have his ring. The 2014 Cardinals are a team of destiny, well coached, great depth. I don't think Larry gives a damn about stats, he's all about team, and that attitude will purvey

Fitz isn't what he was in our Super Bowl year but he is still darn good. Having Floyd and Brown really help spread the ball. TE Carlson made some big plays today. Ellington is also a good receiver coming out of the backfield.

Keep clearly in mind that Fitz was double-teamed and even had up to 5 defenders around him when the ball was thrown his way in the middle and out in the flats. Then keep in mind that this means the other receivers had an easier time getting opened and made it easier for Stanton to find an open receiver to pass to.

Sure Fitz has lost a step, but as long as the opponents want to double, triple, and surround him with up to 5 defenders, Fitz will be a big reason why the Cards will win. In the Giants game, Rolle and DRC wanted to play Fitz straight up and that is why he was open to catch more passes. Against the Chargers and 49ers, they respected him so much that they neglected Brown and Floyd so they were open to catch passes.

Its a team game, and Fitz is remains an important part of the offensive threats the opponents have to contend with.
