They won't cut Fitz next year. I have a feeling Fitz will take a pay cut and stay with the team until he retires. He will also have a decent year this year also. Not sure if it will be a 1000 yrds season but he will have the ball a lot in the rest of the games. Just you watch. ;)

$60 to ban sissy, but you gotta throw in an ASFN jersey! :grabs:

I'd put your my avatar up for grabs Dawg. ;)

Lets make a bet here. You get to choose mine and I get to choose yours. What are the Fitz numbers does he need to have?

I'm dying here with the mulli avatar already, trying to get it back to the "O" one, but I'm always down... I need full on terms. If I win, you let me ban one person (I wants to feel the power of greyskull), if you win??....

I'll chip in another 20 bones if we ban sissy, put that on my mama.

My goodness you are a Debbie Downer. You're also wrong.
I have seriously begun to wonder if Sissy isn't a re-incarnation of NEM. Lord knows the Patriots aren't worth talking about!

Most of his posts are just looking provoke a response, and always negative in perspective (NEM's mo).

I have to chuckle. The last 2 weeks I've read where Fitz and PP seem to be our biggest issues. Like I said last week about PP, if Fitz is our biggest problem, I'll gladly take that because, if that's the case, we're on a way to 16-0.

It more about the talented receivers around him than it is his skill level dropping off. But yes he has been slowing down for several year. Nothing new.

He only said that Fitz shouldn't be on the team next year if he was going to cost 20000000 for the season and catch one ball per game. By that filter alone, he's not wrong. Not wanting Fitz gone, actually I feel bad that we wasted the prime years of his career with clowns at QB.

Wow, that's a lot of Zeros with commas...

At least some of the Prime Years of his career were with #13 at QB.

Let's just look at facts...

Fitz has never been a speed WR, and as he has gotten older, he has not gotten any faster.

Fitz struggles to gain seperation with speed, and has to use his size/route running to try and create seperation.

CBs feel like they can play off Fitz, and just squat on underneath routes. That makes it tough for him to play outside because there are less route options for him.

Fitz has a huge contract next year, and as it is right now, you have to think the Cardinals will just move on if he doesn't make a decision to take less money.

This all being said, Fitz still have the size to be a red zone threat, has great hands, and draws coverage. Those are assets to have.

In the end, the ball will be in his court next offseason.

Every broadcast we here the announcers use the phrase "force the ball to Fitzgerald". The defenses do not lose track of Larry. They roll the coverage to him.

Haley / Warner found ways to get the ball to Larry. Arains is utilizing Larry to get the ball to everybody else.

I am going to just enjoy Larry Fitz' time here, as I have been doing for years. He is a class act, and has still come up big at times in games this year. He's not what he once was, but he is the face of the franchise, and will get nothing but respect from me. At 3-0, I can't even begin to be worried about next year.

He still gets double coverage which is why he is not getting the ball. He still plays at a very high level and his blocking does not receive the notice it should. Our TE's are becoming a force.

With all the depth they have a WR they should work him in at tight end on some plays. How do you cover Fitz, Floyd and the Browns at the same time, throw in Ginn.

Line all four of them up and let the QB read the missmatch.

Refresh my memory .. Have we even attempted a fade to Fitz this season in the red zone?

If we did... Was the ball even close to being in bounds?

The few fades I remember went to a fairly short receiver (John Brown?)

When was the last time a fade worked?

The wheel route that Fitz caught one handed out of bounds against the Chargers would qualify as a fade pattern.

That was nice too.

Fitz still has exceptional hands. It's hard for me to believe he's not all pro anymore. Cris Carter never had speed, just like Fitz. But he was utilized. I'm not saying we should gameplan around Fitz, he's been so heavily covered it's sick, but he isn't done as a football player.

Fitz hasn't had a 100 yard game in 13 games and hasn't caught a TD in 6 games... All with a very talented young WR on the other side in Floyd.

It's time to just come to the realization that he isnt the player he used to be... He may have another good game here and there but a game changer he just isn't anymore!
