Can you imagine Warner at QB with Vick and Boldin right next to him?

I'm still debating with myself on this one. I own an Akita and love him to death. He is the only thing in this world that is ALWAYS happy to see me. I could NEVER train him to fight but I do have relatives out in Lousianna and scattered around the country and to alot of them, dog fighting is a way of life. They don't look at it any different than football games.

The way we think here about those people having no heart/being weird/etc is the same way they think about my family over here. They just don't understand. If thats how Mike Vick was then who's to say being in prison he hasn't learned a different way. Everyone is passing judgement but none of us have spent five minutes with the man to see his points of view from before and after.

But again, I do have a dog of my own and the thought of training him to fight and possibly die makes me sick to my stomach. Again, I'm really on the fence with this...

Thanks though for showing how in certain parts of the South...Dog Fighting HAPPENS ALOT!!!

Alot of people have said the only reason he was sentenced like he was was because he was a national celebrity/athlete. My family in the south says even the law enforcement has been known to turn a blind eye to behavior like this. It really is apart of their way of life.

I have heard this many, many times. I completely disagree with it but let's say that it's a natural part of life in the "South". If that's the case, then why did he lie about it?

Stealing, vandalizing, tagging, drive-by's and gang wars are a part of the gang sub-culture in SoCal. Should the cops just give the gang-bangers a pat on the head because they can't be held responsible for their actions and it's just their way of life?

I'm not disagreeing with you. I hate that any part of our society thinks dog fighting is ok. But the only thing I question myself on sometimes, is growing up in Az, is my opinion on the matter biased to where I am living? If I had grown up in the south would I have a totally different outlook?

It's certainly revealing to see the rationalizing that goes on in trying to defend Vick.
You do recognize the difference between "killing" and "murdering", right?
As long as we're dissecting definitions, you can't "murder" a dog, only a human being.

Merriam-Webster agrees.

the crime of unlawfully killing a person especially with malice aforethought

Vick would be a great addition to this team. He did his time, he has shown remorse. He has paid a huge price and should be allowed to move on.

That is correct sir. Unless you are a member of PETA.

So, if you eat it, is it still murder? Hmm.

Can we just drop the Vick stuff?

I am intrigued to see how things play out for him on the football field. But not in cardinal red. And there is no indication that anyone associated with the team including 98% of the fan base wants anything to do with him either.

Not to mention all you who are talking abou this are assuming he is going to be the same player he was 3 years ago. But he won't. So lets just let it go until we see a report or something that states otherwise. Otherwise we might as well spend time talking about Brett Farve coming here too.

We'll I wasn't wrong. He's better then he was 3 years ago :D

Well Vick IS a solid player, his personal life might be a tad controversial but I'd put money on the fact that way more NFL players are involved in even more crooked ****. Would be a sweet setup if you ask me.
