Even richer, word is that Keith is sporting a huge knee brace and limping between plays. If it wasn't before, OT is a major concern.

This is exactly what I was talking about-----It is CLEAR that our projected right side starting tackle is limping badly and wearing a huge brace on his knee, (and we can't figure out that its time to bring in somebody to back him up in case he goes down permanently????? Go get a tackle, (preferably one who can play the left side too), before they are all gone.

This is the first day of full pad goal line practice with big time hitting. Does ANYBODY really expect that situation to get better as the year goes on by??????

Obviously, given that they made an offer to Jammal Brown, they were aware of the issue.

"Go get a tackle' - OK... who?

P.S. Keith passed his physical. is probably wearing the brace as additional protection at this point and the expectation is that he'll ready to go in September.

I can't remember, but someone just cut a starting LT because he reported in too heavy, (Deuce Lutui syndrome). We could do the same as we did with Deuce, bring him in but not let him start until he gets his weight down. At least this provides some protection against Keith's knee not panning out. It is rare indeed that someone who is in the battle every day gets better after the season has begun.

This was a successful multi year LT, not camp fodder. Wish I could remember the team-----

We are doing better than I expected, I salute the FO. No marquee signings, pure volume, And there will better players available cheaper as the pre season winds down.

At least were getting mostly players in their prime. no big overspend likeon Porter, Faneca.

this new cBa gave the players movement, but it will cut alot of veteran players throats too!

You get what you give!

Mitch, we have both been saying the same thing now for years. This was the year of the pass rusher. Our first or second round pick should have been a pass rusher. They need to just scrap the 3-4 defense and go back to the 4-3 if they are never going to get any pass rushers. They ignore the offensive line every year as well. And like you said we have no backup nose tackle. Braylon Edwards just signed a deal for 1-year and only 3.5 million. We need a number two receiver and Edwards was the best out there for a very reasonable price.

Our defense is weaker than it was last year. We have not improved the o-line one bit. We do have two decent QB's and we upgraded the TE position, but they completely forgot about the rest of the team. Its like they know what positions need to be addressed to make this team a winner and they don't bring people in on purpose just to make sure we have hard time winning. We all see the glaring weak spots on the team every year yet the people running the team wont do anything about it.

Manny Lawson signed a 1 year deal with the Bengals for 3 million. Surely we could have done better, for a player that is a significant upgrade to whoever we'll have playing.
I wouldn't call Lawson a real upgrade over Porter and I fully expect Schofield to have a coming out party this year.

Looks like it was even cheaper than that. I give the Cards a pass on that one, Edwards is trouble IMO.

How far did Braylon Edwards fall? Deal with 49ers is 1yr, $1M, with no guarantees. Only reaches $3.5M max with 90 catches/Pro Bowl. Yikes

1 week of signings and the real practices started this afternoon and already the griping starts. Typical

Actually the griping has never stopped. That's what happens when you finish last in the weakest Division in the NFL after 2 seasons at the top.

All the Cards need to do to stop the griping is win some games.

We drafted Peterson, Acho and Sturdivant to add to the "D". We signed Bradley (a true MLB), we added a corner who can tackle (Marshall) and two proven vet DE/DT. Further, anyone who watched Faneca closely last season. would comclude that the signing of Colledge is a definite step forward. Add this to a more competent QB, better TE's by far, a promising RB and FB through the draft.

And yet, you conclude we have done nothing, and without a "down" having been played, that we are worse off.

Yeah. I see what you're saying. The season can't come soon enough can it?

It is probably unfair, but I cannot rid myself of the perception that, once the FO finished signing all those players over the weekend, they breathed a long sigh of relief, figured they had covered themselves PR-wise and then packed it in for the rest of presaason.

I hope I am wrong.

If you guys think we have a problem at the WR position:

At the other end of the spectrum are the Ravens, who have been trying desperately to find legit pass-catching options for young QB Joe Flacco. As it stands, Baltimore has Boldin, rookie Torrey Smith and, well, not much else. Thirty-seven-year-old Derrick Mason could return (despite his age, he has been productive for the Ravens), and perhaps the organization will make a run at recently released Jets wideout Jerricho Cotchery.

If these guys are having a problem getting starters to sign with them, it should tell us just how competative it is for ALL NFL teams.
