Y'all are wimps.

When I met the new neighbors next door I introduced myself and said, "I'm a Cardinals fan and watch the games on TV. You'll be hearing me scream during the games. It's not going to stop so just plan on keeping your doors and windows closed on game day."

I got the look that said, "You're kidding." I gave them the look that said "Damn straight."

Good point. SAFE seems to dislike the home fans for some reason. I've seen plenty get treated poorly while they cater to opposing fans.

:lame:

BIM, remember of course our fiasco with the Raiders fan?? JG made it a point that teh SAFE worker came over to me when it was the clown Raiders fan who started the whole mess. Thats sad man.

Yep. He went right for the Cardinals fan (you) when the Raiders fan started it. Ridiculous.

Just got a call from a fellow named Blake with T. E. A. M. staff (stadiuon security). Nice guy, explained some things to me and asked me some questions, apologized, and asked what they could do.

Explained to me the text meesages his staff gets are indeed anonymous, and that they have to respond to each and every one. I rebuttle'd with responding and taking a fan out of his/her seat are 2 different things, and that they should actually watch for a second before they make the call on who to "warn". I mentioned I could text the from home, and get any of the fans the fans I see on TV messed with.

He admitted their system isn't perfect, and they usually try and view the situation before they make contact with any unruley fans. He admitted they got this one wrong, and that it was written in the report that way. Said there was nothing wrong with the way I watched the game. The apology wasn't backhanded either, he said it was their bad, that was cool.

Good dude, asked what he could do for me. I just said I wasn't looking for free tickets, that I feel "safer" about watching the games from home for right now. He understood and said his staff would go over my report this week, and try to fix what they can when they can. I believed him, so much so I mentioned that I understand they do have a tough job, maybe just wrong place wrong time. He read the text to me:

Unruly fan
section 434 row 3 seat 2
Yelling cursing wont stand down

At least they got my seat number right!!! :D It's weird, you call the Cards Org, and then UofP calls you back.

I'm glad to hear they reached out to you. Regardless what went down they definitely should have viewed the situation for themselves before taking action.

Really? He said himself that he stands up the entire time our defense is on the field. Am I the only one here that would hate to sit behind DDawg? Personally, I hate it when people stand up non-stop. I'm all for supporting your team and getting to your feet at crucial moments but there are other people in the stadium. If you and all your friends are standing, the short people behind you just paid good money to check out your butts.

Steve
if you dont like to stand and yell when we are on defense, sit on top or stay at home.

You should be on your feet and screaming the entire time the team is on defense. If the crowd maintained the intensity we have in the final 7 minutes of the 4th quarter every single game, we'd be the loudest and hardest stadium to win in.

In my opinion, you come to the game to support the team and influence the outcome. You become part of the game. If you're just showing up just to sit and watch, you'd honestly probably have a better time watching at home.

(I know that was kind of harsh - I'm not calling out your fandom at all. It's just a different approach for different people. But if it were up to me, we'd never, ever let up.)

This debate will never be resolved as long as ticket holders are getting a seat in the stands.

I've been thinking a lot about this thread, and we are all fans. The standers, the sitters, you know what I mean. If I attend a future game I think I will take more time to see who is behind me, if it's a Cards fan or a cool visitor fan that doesn't stand up with me, or simply can't stand up for that length of time...I'm just gonna offer to buy them a beer and switch seats with them. Might even make my way to the back row of whatever section I am in, and offer to swap seats with them to save some time and beer money. :D I don't care where I sit, but I just can't sit down on defense.

Why not sit down for breaks/stoppages? Yes, make noise when other team is in huddle, but why not sit down to be cool to people who need to take a break during times nothing is happening?

Glad to hear they at least tried to make thing right with you DD..

You are welcome to go to the game with my fiancee free of charge when I inevitably piss her off and she bans me from using my own tickets to go to the game. :D

You said you stand up on defense.
Come on now, I aint screaming my head off and bumping chests when there aint jack going on. It's not a one extreme or the other thing, but I do stand up a lot, so I think I will pay more attention to my surroundings from here on out. Usually everybodies standing with me, been to numerous games. But I don't want to mess anyone else's game up while I get my game on, especially other Card fans.

I got into this conversation in response to someone saying that "excessive standing" was subjective. My point, which was apparently lost, is that if there is a rule prohibiting excessive standing and if the guy publicly acknowledges that he stands up the entire time the defense is on the field, then it's probably pretty easy to justify the "excessive" claim.

After having to deal with some drunken obnoxious Dolphin fans behind me today I have to say that it is time for security to crack down on the rude behavior of opposing fans. I am getting tired of getting into verbal altercations with local jerks who are wearing jerseys of players who are no longer even on the opposing team that they are "rooting for" every other time that I go to the stadium. Somebody tell the S.A.F.E staff to protect the nest.
