Pretty sure it was a gimme that I could have kicked. I remember the game well as I was living in MD then, and was sitting in a room full of Redskin fans. He was one of the 5 worst kickers in Cardinals history. And that's saying something. In today's NFL, the dude wouldn't have lasted a month.

I remember several of those plays and met Dobler, Deirdorf and Terry Metcalf briefly and by coincidence: Dobler at the joint I was bartending in, I recognized Dan from behind; biggest head I ever saw
Ran into Dobler in the Westport plaza parking lot stuffing a big garment bag into his trunk. As I passed I asked him if it was a dead body. He laughed as I continued on

Metcalf I ran in to at a hippie party in the Central West End. I was struck by how small he was (for a football player) Couldn't get near him due to the wall of blondes and red heads surrounding him :(
