I think that the 49ers in their current form matches up poorly with the Cards in their current form.
The 49ers can stop the run, but can't do much against the passing game, particularly against bigger wide receivers. Unfortunately, the Cards will be starting Drew Stanton.
The 49ers can't run the ball very well from their RB corps, but they have an efficient play-action passing game with wideouts who can give man defenders fits. Unfortunately, the Cards are going to have to bring additional rushers to pressure the 49ers.
There's a strange misconception here that San Francisco hasn't been killing us the last five years. I just don't think we have the horses to win it right now.
