Funny, we beat the Bengals on a GW FG in our 2015 meeting as well.

Howard use to be a big play guy for the Bucs. Seems like Byron doesn't care for the TE.
Yeah...I don't think Howard is the blocker that Arians and Byron want which is silly to me. That is one reason I think he could be traded for. He is cheap, the Bucs have Brate, and he isn't fitting with the new regime. There is also a connection between the two organization which can help get a deal done. I don't think it will happen, but this is what a smart GM would do IMO.

Goign after Emmanuel Sanders would be an option as well. The problem is that he is a bit redundant to Fitzgerald and Kirk, is older, and needs a new contract.

Why would you all want Howard? The cards barely use the TEs they have now. One catch to Clay and one catch to Williams. It's not like Murraybis throwing to them and they are missing. They just aren't being used which I think is crazy.

I would simply like to see us use the ones we have more often.

It takes two to make a trade. Be realistic what are you giving up for Howard? Why would the Bucs just give him away

The wouldn't just give him up. I would offer a 3rd rounder. Arians is all about cleaning house. He did it here, and he is likely to push for it in Tampa. When guys are on his list, it is tough for them to get off of it. Howard seems to be on that list. He doesn't do what the scheme asks him to do, and he takes up 3 mil in cap space. With Winston primed for a new contract, I'm not shocked if the Bucs look to move some contracts that they don't need.

An issue with TEs in the traditional air raid is it is tough to find ones who work in it. They either aren't athletic enough or they aren't big enough. Howard is a rare combination of both. He is large enough to punish defenses if they go small, and fast enough to burn LBs and some Ss ala David Johnson. Kingsbury is about finding mismatches. Listen how they talk about DJ in the passing game. Howard offers a unique option to do this while increasing your size on the field.

This offense needs weapons and athletes, and you can't just keep taking draft picks like Isabella and Butler and hope they pan out. Acquire big and fast offensive weapons any way you can, add them, and then figure it out.

The traditional draft and develop strategy is a great way to waste Murray's rookie contract years. Add proven talent any and every way you can as soon as you can. Then when you have an abundance of resources and you have to pay Murray, make tough decisions and gobble up those comp picks.

This system doesn’t really use TE like that so why would we give up a 3rd for one. I think throwing a 2 at Minny for Diggs would be more realistic

Maybe we don't use TEs because we don't have any good ones? Seems to me that Kliff will adjust to the personnel and thus would utilize a good TE if we had one.

Agreed. We have slow tight ends that get zero separation. This is obvious by just stating the names. Lol.

The "system" is about getting the ball to playmakers in space. It doesn't care what position the playmakers play. See David Johnson's use in the passing game.

When our current TE’s have been used I think they have done well. We are seeing the TE being utilized a bit more.

I would trade a 3rd for OJ Howard in heartbeat.

A talented TE would open up this offense so much more
No way we would use him appropriately. Although we can always use more talent.

If we throw a 3rd at anything, it should be Trent Williams.

The Cardinals ran 10 personnel -- 1 RB, 0 TE and 4 WR -- on just 13 of 71 plays Sunday against the Bengals, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. They ran 11 (3 WR) 28 times and 12 (2 WR) 22 times.

Here is some personnel grouping context...

Week 5 (out of 77)
DJ 54, Edmonds 27
Clay 44, Williams 43

Week 4 (out of 63)
DJ 54, Edmonds 13
Williams 22, Clay 17

Week 3 (out of 75)
DJ 65, Edmonds 9
Clay 25, Williams 13

This week without Kirk, we doubled our leading TEs # of snaps played and doubled Edmonds # of snaps played.

We had at least 1 TE on the field 57% of the time.

We had Edmonds on the field for 35% of offensive snaps.

Now, these adjustments could be just due to Kirk's injury, but it says a lot about how the staff feels regarding Cooper and Isabella.

Could be a blessing in disguise. Against the Bengals yea, but no coincidence we had our best offensive output with our TEs getting more plays.
