There's a story today that said for much of the game the stands were very empty. It was so hot that everyone went to the concourse and were watching the game on the tv screens.

It hit 101 locally yesterday and the side of the field that gets the sun, apparently was basically empty much of the game.

I just rewatched the 4th qtr and the sunny side upper deck is probably half full. Also something I noticed rewatching the final drive is De’Vondre Campbell batting down the 3rd play saved the game because Fred Warner is housing that the other way.

In the postgame Donte Whitner was talking about fans blaming Jordan Mason for the hit on Purdy that caused the pick but he said it was actually Purdy's fault and Shanahan. The Cards had 5 defenders on that side, the 49ers only had 3 OL plus Mason. The rule is the RB picks up the guy with the shortest path to the QB and that was Barnes and Mason got him, but Thompson came untouched.

Whitner said Purdy and Shanahan have to read that and either audible, or Purdy has to just get the ball out faster. He was a safety of course so he's biased but he said Thompson "masterfully" disguised it said we were walking Thompson up in the box regularly there but he usually would back out and he did a good job of making it look like the other plays so Purdy would assume he was not going to blitz.

I read something that said Purdy is only I think 5-5 in his last 10 regular season starts with 11 TD passes and 9 picks. Not great but remember 3 of those games are from last year in the playoffs and Super bowl(2 wins 1 loss).
I've never watched a SF Post game show in my life until Sunday night, but Donte Whitner is pretty darn good at his job. I didn't even know he did analysis.

James Conner forced 9 missed tackles in the Arizona Cardinals’ 24-23 win over the 49ers, tied for the 4th most by any player in a game this season, per
@ZebraSports.As for Marvin Harrison Jr., he averaged 1.4 yards of separation on seven targets (2nd lowest in Week 5).

That's I think the 2nd time this year Marv has been in the lowest separation stat?

I’m thinking the perfect storm.

We played an injured team in weather conditions that favored us.

I am not looking forward to the rematch.

Honest question. How is a WR expected to create separation on a back shoulder fade?

If you mean the one on one with the CB, he's supposed to create separation at the LOS because it was 1 on 1. The back shoulder throw is done because the WR DOESN'T have separation, that's not the original plan the original plan is the WR beats Isaac Yiadom coming off the LOS and the QB gets him the ball.

Brady identified that exact matchup before the ball was snapped, but Yiadom had good coverage. It wasn't a great backshoulder throw for sure, but the idea is the Wr is supposed to win that matchup
