Nice bump... What no response from K9?

He's working on excuses and contrived stats to demonstrate how DW's superiority is somehow a fluke. I fully expect a Karlos Dansby reference to be included.

;)

Oh how Sweet it is!

22 of Timmons tackles are assists. Lmao! Otherwise has only 48 solo in one more game.

LOL K9 was so wrong on this guy, based on purely his size which Washington is showing isn't an issue.

This reminds me when K9 talked up how much better Roy Williams was over Fitzgerald just because he was a little bigger and faster.

Its because the other players on Pitts D are really good and make lots of tackles. On the Cards he would have 200 already lol

Is it just me or does Washington look like he's really filled out this year?

Never would have thought he could put on that much muscle/weight and not lose his quickness but apparently he did. Also helps that he and Lenon are no longer sitting still while the blockers get on them and instead are attacking the ball carries more often.

Even without an offseason, DWash is exhibit A in why it is a big mistake to evaluate an NFL player after just one season IMO. The guy has been a stud this season.

I like how I was called out on this thread 12 minutes after it was bumped... at 12:04 in the morning. I know that some of you guys have nothing better to do but lurk around and poke at people who don't have conventional opinions, but some of us need our Z's.

Daryl Washington by his own admission played his rookie season at 225 lbs. He came into camp this year at 235. He did bulk up, which was what my real problem was with him. I was worried that he was one of those guys who couldn't add weight no matter what you did with them.

He's been really impressive this season, and was a really good pick. I still wouldn't have used our first-rounder on him (as we were prepared to do had Dan Williams not been on the board), but he's been all over the field and really productive for us this year.

Hopefully he takes the next step this offseason and becomes more of a leader to his teammates. I'd like to see him named defensive captain next year with Wilson and Dockett.

Do you still think that Daryl Washington=Raynoch Thompson? something you so adamantly defended in our pre-draft debates IIRC.

You questioned many thinks besides his weight including his ability to make plays, arguing that in the tapes you watched he never made any plays (something odd considering he was getting rave review everywhere including this board for his playmaking abilities).

However, credit where credit is due, you've admitted you were wrong about the player and that is quite rare these days.

You guys have never been wrong on a player? K9 JUST said he's happy with Washington. What do you want from him?

I never have.:D

Sean Weatherspoon was another LB that I was touting from that class and who has really come into his own in Atlanta. I will have to check the other LB's drafted, cause I am curioes to see how that position panned out.

Most of the inside linebackers from that draft have done fairly well to be honest. Sean Lee is looking like a very good player for the Cowboys, Jamar Chaney is a starting ILB in Philly and doing quite well, Spikes had an excellent season with the patriots, Pat Angerer and Donald Butler both have seen quite bit of time with Indy and the Chargers respectively. The standout player before the draft was McClain who has been relatively good for Oakland but hasnt quite developed into the absolute we all expected quite yet.

Impossible! no really I should add that I think K9 deserves a lot of credit for admitting he was wrong about a player, something not all of us readily admit to.

Invalid argumentation. He wasn't taken in the first round, so this has no relevance.

Cards said that they were prepared to take him in the first. In hindsight, as he is playing now, it wouldn't have been a completely horrible pick.

Maybe. :D

Everytime I watch McClain play, I can't help but notice how he runs at a snails pace. The top LB pick in that draft class might just be the worst of the group.

They said they considered taking him. This hardly means that he was their second choice. I'd venture to say they considered many players. Of course they want to build up the pick and express what a steal they thought he was. Part of those press conferences is to get the fan base excited about the picks. Would we have preferred that they said "well we thought about seeing if he was still there in the third"?

Could easily mean he was their second choice. These are the Cardinals.
