T the race for the No. 1 could come down to Bush and Young.

Just like everyone thought it would be the morning after the Rose Bowl.
I was buying what they were selling right up to the last couple of sentences.

Bush is going to be the #1 pick. He is head and shoulders above anyone you might want to slot as the #2 guy in the draft (and I think you can make a case for a handful of guys).

I would love to draft Vince Young if he is available when we are on the clock. I think Vince Young can perform well in our offense. We don't really throw the ball deep very often, of course, that may be because our OL can't sustain a block long enough in order to get downfield.

I think Young can hit the short to intermediate distance throws. His running ability would add another dimension to our offense as long as they don't try to force him to remain in the pocket like the previous staff did with Jake.

By some miracle what if Vince Young and Vernon Davis were both on the board when we select. That would be a tough choice. Do you draft someone like Davis who will contribute right away or draft your QBOF who won't see the field for a year or two unless Warner goes down due to injury? I think I would pick Vince Young, but I would probably flip/flop back and forth in trying to make that decision.

i hope they are not both there...we sign collins or maddox as backup and take davis....that would be sweet.

The best thing about Vince Young not being able to read is that if he ever came to the board he wouldn't be subjected to your ********.

I have to admit that was pretty damn funny!

Interesting tidbit from Drew Boylhart from The Huddle Report on Chad Greenway and Vince Young:

For example, I have on film Dave Thomas (TE/H-Back – Texas) calling out the blitzes for the O-line so that his offensive center knows what side of the line the potential blitz is coming from - so that the center can then make his calls. The QB usually makes this call to keep the RB and O-line on the same page to block the potential blitz. When I saw this, it made me realize that Vince was not even up to speed on the basics of the QB position at the college level. I didn’t need a Wonderlic test or a combine workout to know that old Vince is nowhere near a finished project at the college level, much less ready to be a QB at the next level. I just bet there is no highlight or edited film that shows this little incident.

Regarding Chad, I have him on film most of the time making tackles after the RB has passed the line of scrimmage and with the player falling forward. The only time I’ve seen him put a player on his back is if the player is standing still. Now, at the college level, that might be all right; however, at the next level, if you can’t meet your man, cut off the angle and drive him onto his back at least once in a game, you will not be an impact LB at the next level. You might be a solid LB, but not an impact LB.

I'm amazed that Texas managed to win a single game with Vince Young at QB.

VERY hard to take to take the HR seriously when they are so obviously pushing an agenda.

Line calls very from team to team. Warner didn't make alot of the calls last year - so I guess he isn't going to have much sucess on the pro level. ;)

If we were serious Dennis Green and Rod Graves would have been there. My guess is we are just confirming his intellegence. If VY is available at the #10 spot we might be able to trade down for extra picks and select some quality OL.

You can tell this by what he eats?

With the Raiders signing Brooks I guess there is a possibility of Vince Young being on the board when we draft. Is Vince Young the next Daunte Culpepper or Dennis Green?

Well I guess he would be closer to Culpepper since Young is a QB and not an overweight coach.

Tommy Maddox over Vince Young?? No damned way..

If Young is there, I don't care if Vernon Davis ran the 40 time in 50 seconds, the Cards should take him and not think twice about it.

why is everyone so concern about a qbof. imo get veterans guys who still have 4-5 years left in him and play them. why invest all that money in a uproven player that has a lot of question marks on him. i like the raidiers style. you already know what the player has to offer. if he is a former number one pick that hasn't worked out with his former team, then the team can determine how much risk a player is and can get them cheaper.
