They don't seem to have one do they? Once the winning begins I think the St. Louis Rams would be the natural for this.

Something along the lines of Dallas-Washington or St. Louis-San Fran.

Seattle and San Fran just don't seem natural. But you've hit the big time when you have a "rival".

I think rivals are made not only in the division, but in the playoffs. St. Louis does seem logical, but until we duke it out with someone for the right to keep playing, I think our biggest rival is ourselves.

And we can't beat that rival as it is.

Philly/TB has become a rivalry because of the playoff battles. I think the Cards will gain a rivalry in division first and STL makes the most sense given franchise history.

A good start to that would be a hard fought Cardinal win over the Rams in November to take sole possesion of the division lead. In 1999 that's what the Rams did to San Fran on their way to the Super Bowl.

Being from Philly I was yelling for the RAMS:rolleyes: last night

the big one for Philly was the COWGIRLS!!!!!!

Philly during the 70and 80's would make the GIRLS were their BLUES..... back then the darks, for them, weren't worn ( on the norm), and everytime they wore their BLUES...they LOST!!!!:D
It is different now.
When we were back in Philly in 96, the GIRLS were playing the Eagles on MNF and we did the tourist thang.....I was wearing a Cards Jersey and the wife was wear a radio staion frm Phoenix t-shirt ( to F-ing old to remeber) and this guy pulls up in a p/u truck and wants to sell us a t-shirt...... $5.. DALLAS SUCKS....*^&^^% i didnt buy it!!!!!!!!!:bang:

I am looking for a new rival for the Cards. Since moving out of the NFC EAST...hmm it's hard but... so far.. but its strange here...

I gave my tickets for the Green Bay game to my friends who watched my store and so i can get them written off!!!.. BUT mainly because of those FANS!!!!!

I wil be there Friday night and YELLING in the south endzone!!!!!

GOT GAS!!!!!!

St. Louis without a doubt would be the natural rival for the Cardinals. All you have to do is read or listen to their sports commentators and you get the sense of superiority that they have for themselves and the disdain that they have not just for the Cardinals, but for Arizona in general.

I'd vote for St. Louis simply cause I always hated them as I hate all teams from L.A., then they went to St. Louis so now they have a grudge with the Cards.

Add to it the D-Backs have a postseason rivalry with the baseball Cards and it's a nice "I pee on your city" feud in the making.

San Francisco. Arguably the best win in the regular season since the move to AZ was beating SF here before they went on to win the Super Bowl.

Those of us with no St. Louis history just don''t care much about the Rams or anything St. Louis.

The NFL should have put San Diego in our division, rather than Seattle. It would have been a wonderful rivalry. San Diegans already hate Zonies.

I'd say the Lambs as well, just because of the hatred St. Louis has for the Bidwills.

It is also the Lambs for me personally because I grew up in So. Cal. rooting for the Rams and when Georgia moved the team I felt betrayed. Probably the same way that many people in St. Louis feel about the Big Red.

I despise the Lambs now!

Truly. And we gamed them (for four seasons, but gamed them nonetheless) in the Ryan Leaf trade.

Unfortunately, I think that this was a "seniority" change, rather than a regional-interest change. That's why Tampa went to the NFC South, when they had really nice rivalries with Minnesota and Green Bay. Detriot would have been a better choice, just because no one cares where they play.

Call me crazy, but a game 15 years ago hardly strikes me as a reason to have a rivalry with someone. Something will have to build - animosity or more importantly winning and showing another team up - the way the D-backs did with San Fran - now we may not be the natrual rival, and will never replace the dodgers - but we stole most of Barry's Thunder away from the second year we got there on. Winning brings rivalries - when we get that we can start talking.

If the Cards can somehow contend with any regularity and seeing how the Dbacks are always in contention with the Giants, I can see a rivalry forming between these 2 cities.

Hey Peoria,

I could probably wrangle up one of those Dallas Sucks shirts for you. I know they still sell them in these parts.
