What people are missing is that he's still way better than Ellington.

Ugh this is just so not true. Cmon man. You are better then this. Lets not look at one isolated YPC stat from last year and make these assumptions.

Ellington was hurt all of last year. Gimme a break hes still the lead guy and the touches will show that. CJ2K is what he is. A 29 yo RB who relies on speed and doesnt as much as he did when he was 22. He is good insurance and depth and possibly plays a big part for us depending on injury.

But theres a reason he was available till 8/17. If Ellington was on the market it would be for a day and he would get 15 mill guaranteed because of his age and ability.

Lets be real here. This is a nice low risk signing. Not the difference in the Super Bowl imo.

According to Ed Werder of ESPN, the deal Johnson agreed to in Arizona includes no signing bonus, and the veteran minimum salary of $870,000.
He could make up to $2 million this year total, but that would require him making the Pro Bowl and rushing for 1,300 yards.
PB = Performance Bonus, not Pro Bowl.

SB = Signing Bonus, which he didn't get anything.

The guarantee is a mere $400k. This just might do down as Keim's best FA signing to date... and he's had a bunch of good one's! ;)

So,...any one think "Johnson & Johnson".... will be our "No more tears" backfield??

Nice!!

Just the highlights I posted earlier on him for last year gets me excited about him playing with us. He had what, 3 of 4 50 yrd runs in that highlight and he didn't get alot of touches last year. I know he may not get alot this year either, but he flashed alot last year and if he can do that again here, that's a win in my book.

Chris Johnson: Cardinals Made Sense

The message was clear to Chris Johnson from the first time he spoke to Bruce Arians on the phone. There would be opportunity in Arizona with the Cardinals, but that was it.

“We don’t promise anything when we bring guys in,” Arians said.

There were to be no guarantees of playing time, and little in guarantees, period, since less than half of Johnson’s $870,000 is promised on his one-year deal. If the veteran running back doesn’t work out, it would be easy for the Cards to release him at the end of the preseason.

Johnson insists he doesn’t care. After signing a free agent contract last year with the New York Jets (with a $3 million signing bonus) and having that experience fizzle, after getting shot in a drive-by incident in March, after failing to make the playoffs in every year but his rookie season in Tennessee, the Cardinals still made the most sense as a destination.

“I don’t say (I have) something to prove to somebody, I say something to prove to myself,” Johnson said Tuesday, prior to his first practice with
the team. “With everything I went through, I’m just happy to be back playing football on Sundays.”

I love injuries.

Every time someone gets off the couch and tries to run fast, the hamstrings get pulled immediately. Happens to me, you, everyone. Especially these guys that run as fast and hard as possible from a dead stop, over and over.

Getting a hamstring injury seems to be a right of passage for this team.
