Lee has droppped two TDs this season. You don't do that.

Even though he is god in my eyes.... Boldin has dropped two TDs if not more. Remember the gimp jump catch?

We are not allowed to talk about Boldin, Dockett, Berry, or Huff underperforming.

When did Huff reach Boldin status on this board?

That's what I was wondering. Bolding created the universe, Huff hasn't done jack.

Just someone who severely underperforms and no one really talks about it, I probably shouldn't have included Huff because my main problem is with Dockett and Boldin.

Argument may have cost Lee job

The Cardinals cut wide receiver Charles Lee on Monday after he committed two 10-yard penalties on punt returns Sunday and had an argument with special-teams coach Kevin O'Dea on the sideline.

Lee, a six-year veteran, was called for offensive holding in the second quarter and an illegal block in the third.

Lee's agent, Richard De Luca, emphasized that Lee talked to O'Dea on Monday and their relationship is fine. advertisement

"I guess Denny (coach Dennis Green) didn't appreciate one of his players talking back to one of his coaches," De Luca said by phone. "Everyone makes a mistake or two. He was their fourth receiver, and he played all the (special) teams for them."

Lee had 11 catches this season for 152 yards, tied with running back Marcel Shipp for third-most receiving yards behind Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin.

The No. 4 spot could fall to seventh-round draft pick LeRon McCoy. McCoy is the only non-starting receiver on the 53-man active roster other than fifth-year veteran Reggie Swinton, who is considered strictly a kick returner.

The Cardinals could look to promote either Carlyle Holiday or Dan Sheldon, both rookie free agents, from the practice squad. They also could re-sign Reggie Newhouse, who was released in the last roster cut before the season.

Ross a week away
On his Monday radio show, Green said right tackle Oliver Ross, who had surgery on his right hand in September, will return to practice next week.

The team had hoped Ross would be ready for Sunday's game against Dallas at Texas Stadium.

His replacement, Fred Wakefield, had a boot on his left foot Monday but said the injury wasn't serious. Wakefield injured his left ankle during Sunday's game vs. the Titans.

Rackers at 20
Kicker Neil Rackers extended his club record with his 19th and 20th consecutive field goals of the season.

He continues to keep his team in games. On Sunday he posted the Cardinals' first points with a 33-yarder in the second quarter. His second field goal, a 24-yarder in the third quarter, gave the Cardinals the lead.

It sucks that he was cut because of some penalties & a tiff. It's funny how Denny shows loyalty to some players & coaches, but is quick to cut bait on others.

:nono:

Thats blasphemy on this site. How dare you say anything negative about Green Maddog. Wow and your a moderator :D

Geesh....I don't remember seeing any 'argument.' I was watching the sidelines when the Special Teams coach was ripping into him (and another guy sitting next to him - I think it was McCoy).

The coach was going ballistic but I didn't see Lee 'arguing' with him. He was just sitting on the bench looking down.

Cardinals Release WR Charles Lee
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Monday, October 24, 2005

Tempe, AZ – The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has released wide receiver Charles Lee.

Lee appeared in all six games with the Cardinals this season, recording 11 receptions for 152 yards (13.8 yard avg.) after signing as a free agent on May 24, 2005.

This guy will be picked up and be a good player. Surely we had someone worse than him to release.

Wow, that is surprising.

I'm thinking this is a "message". He had a bad day on special teams yesterday. If you want to get the team's attention about mental mistakes, a cut would do it. Of course, you can't cut someone who starts, but you can't cut a nonentity like LeRon McCoy either and have any impact.

I sure hope this is not another one of DG's message moves. They do not work out very well.

DG has always said... "I don't fine players... I'll just cut you"

Billy:

I've always hated that line. It's sort of like house training a dog by shooting it. Guarantees no more "mistakes" on the carpet, true, but you no longer have a dog, either.

The idea behind fines is to punish a player in the hope of correcting his behavior. And if a player has so little talent that cutting him isn't a loss, what was he doing on the active roster in the first place?

As far as I'm concerned, cutting a player means that the coaching and/or personnel staff screwed up, at some level. Dennis Green oughta find something else to boast about.

MJ and Bickley brought up Moses as a player that Green should bring back to fill in for Swinton who injuried his foot slightly.

Green chuckled at that and MJ and Bickley asked if that meant he is bringing Moses back. Green kind of hinted that yes he was bringing Moses back.

Update on Lee

Nate (Madison): Fred Ex, Charles Lee, and Dorsey Levens? Is it true they all have been invited to workout with Green Bay? Is that the best the FA market can offer right now?

Those penalties, the terribly mishandled pass in the endzone, and the undefendable failure to light up the punt returner on the ten yard line and instead slapping him on the butt and letting him get 13 or so yards. That last one was inexcusable.
Yeah, what was that about??? Lee should have lit that guy up big time, but instead runs by him...
Can't even use the excuse that he thought the guy made a fair catch signal because then by making contact it would have been a penalty. It was a very weird move by Lee. I think that play alone, depending upon Lee's response when the coach asked him wtf?, when he came to the sideline. I didn't see the alleged argument by I would guess that would be when it happened.

See ya!!!

You cut role players who screw up royally....you "have a meeting and work things out" with a star who screws up.

I have to say, yelling at a coach? Yeah, I can't fault anybody for being cut for yelling at a coach.
