I guess he passed his physical. IMO this really opens up options on passing downs.

Concerned about the bonehead penalties, and some people have commented on his propensity for drops.

But I've always liked his overall talent. Let's hope BA keeps him focused and perhaps we'll be pleasantly surprised. :)

Definitely a concern but we all know that BA won't stand for mental mistakes. Greshem better bring his A game or he will get an ear full. Still, it would be a shocker if he isn't the starter on day one with his experience.

I'm more concerned that he isn't rushed into playing before he is ready. It's been 12 weeks since his back surgery which is about right for that type of surgery to start returning to the field. However how long will it take before he is back in "football shape". I'm curious to see if they discuss his recovery now that he has been signed and where he is at.

Gotta love this signing. We needed a vet TE to help the others, and he was the best available. SK worked his magic yet again with this 1 year prove it contract. Let us hope that Gresham is ready to join the rest of our veterans in helping the youngsters to become the best they can be, and meshes easily into the chemistry that BA has built here. Steadily and surely, BA and SK continue to solidify this roster, and soon will begin to hone them to a razor edge. Hang onto your hats, boys and girls, because this is looking more and more like a powerhouse ride.

A few food for thought items on Gresham .
He had the back surgery before the last reg.season game , causing him to miss that game and the play-off game . Some were thinking he had the surgery in march .
He played for 3 different OC's in his five seasons in cincy .
Andy Dalton threw the ball ""somewhere toward Gresham"" the last 4 of those seasons .
Bottom Line ; I'm good with this signing !!!

So, you're saying the reports that he didn't sign with the Raiders in March because they found a herniated disk and he had subsequent surgery are wrong?

http://arizonasports.com/40/1851425/Arizona-Cardinals-sign-tight-end-Jermaine-Gresham

Former Cincinnati Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham agreed to terms on a deal with the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced Friday.

Gresham, 27, agreed to a one-year deal.

The 6-foot-5, 261-pound tight end was targeted 79 times last season, hauling in 62 passes for 460 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games.

I got the herniated disk surgery info from the link posted above by Dback Jon , it makes no mention of March or the Raiders .

Awesome really like this move younger and better than Cooley and a one year deal to prove himself as a card. Gj Cards and Keim!!

I at least like the positive outlook of him out performing Graham. A healthy Palmer/Ellington/o line and now Gresham, that's a pretty solid offense. Didn't even mention our WR!

Key questions:

Did he pass his physical? Will he be ready for Training Camp next week?

Not a good signing if he is still in recovery and unable to practice.

He would not have been signed with a failed physical.
