Sorry, but BG didn't play horribly. He had a decent first half. Could have scored a td if DJ actually ran the right route. The over throw to the new TE before that was because of the defender in front. He had no time to throw on several plays. His INT to seals-Jones was on Jones. Jones moved and should have stopped were he was. Several WR drops on crucial plays.

Defense fell apart in the second half with wide open receivers on several drives. Lucky they were able to stop them for just 2 FG.

To me, BG is getting a bum wrap due to horrible oline play, WRs running wrong routes and not catching balls. Yeah, BG has had several over throws and also is not going through his progression due to mentally not thinking you have the time with this line(I'd be freaking out to).

I honestly hope they keep BG for next year and he works with the team more. I'd be OK with him being the starter if Palmer retires. I think more time with the team, he will get better. Draft a QB in the early rounds and have him sit the first year behind BG.

Thinking about it, I believe the dumbest thing BG did on Sunday was go out of bounds and lose another 5 yards instead of throwing it away.

LOL. He fumbled the ball on the third snap of the game. Putting this on the defense is ridiculous. Gabbert was like 1 of 8 in the red zone.

No. God no. Please no.

BA(if he’s still the HC) should get fired immediately if he does this.

I agree, but every mock ( for what they are worth ) does not show a 1st round QB as the choice. I do believe there is a 2nd tier of Qbs who will go 2nd day/3rd day after the 1st day 5 group.

Whatever, it's not like there is much of a difference other than I think Stanton is probably smart enough to actually throw the ball away once he is out of the pocket instead of running out of bounds for a 5 yard loss.

Whomever is back there throwing the ball, I just hope the game plan these last two games is to force feed Fitz. I'm talking like Kobe's last game feed him. Just keep throwing him the ball every single play regardless of score, double teams, whatever it takes to pad his stats as much as possible. We can lose by 50 as long as Larry gets 10 for 120.

I mean why not? What else is there to prove or play for at this point? They already run that stupid WR screen the first drive of every game to keep his streak going. Why not go all in? Nothing else that happens in these last two games means a damn thing.

So much of Larry's career has been wasted playing on garbage teams with garbage QBs. 2017 has just been the latest chapter. Were these to be his last two games, in true Cardinal fashion it would be an unfortunate but fitting end.

Like when the Cards force fed every pass to Larry Centers so he could break the record and frankly in that season, that was the most exciting thing to watch

Not putting it on the Defense. Where did I say that?

I didn't put this lose on them, I just stated that one of the first drives Washington had in the second half, their WRs were always open and they were moving the ball down the field. Luckly they stopped them for only 2 FGs in the second half.

BG still needs work(yes, hes been in the league for 8 years) but I think if he is still on the team for next year, and has a whole off season/training camp/pre-season, he can get better.

interesting highly speculative take on Bick/ Marotta today (tuesday):

Bickley and Murotta noted that: Keim describing "big changes" this offseason as an understatment ...

added to the matter of fact way Arians described his retirement decision process...

added to Stanton being named the starter .... means:

1. BA isnt coming back. Likely because after deferring to BA last year on assistants, Keim and Mike B arent this year.

2. Stanton is going in because Bruce wants to go out winning: needs 2 more wins to pass Whisenhunt on Cardinal win list. Also: Stanton is a BA guy, wants to do right by him. With him not coming back, feels no need to keep Gabbert in there.

I will add this on top: Keim talked about starting from scratch in 2013 and producing three double digit win seasons -- shows it can be done. I dont think you refer to that kind of starting over -- new coach, new Qb, etc -- unless that is whats on your mind.

When you have to say if this and if that and more time for a guy that's been playing the same for years I say we have the wrong QB.

Might be Arians' last season coaching. Stanton has been with this franchise for a while and one would expect a camaraderie among him and our players, and it may be the last season for him playing as a Cardinal. We know what we have in Blaine after so many starts. We have not crossed the goal line since forever. We are not going to the playoffs. This makes total sense and have no problem with the change of QB at all... everyone needs to lighten up over a moot subject and as K9 might say, be entertain :)

Plus it's one more opportunity for me to wear my Stanton jersey!

BA is no 'QB whisperer'

Peyton Manning
Kurt Warner
Big Ben

I think a blind dog could have instructed them. He hasn't turned any decent qb to a good qb or a good qb into a great qb.

He hasn't improved one qb that we've had.

This isn't true. Palmer has a higher completion percentage, YPA, yards per game, TD percentage and lower INT percentage as a Cardinal than he's had as a career.

He did a great job with Palmer considering he was a vet, 2015 counts for something, but to judge him with Thomas or Blaine because they are what they are is not right... by the way, when did he have Kurt Warner I might ask

What would you rather have... the Seattle win on the road last year or Desean Watson?

I get that the players always want to win. It’s their job. But I’ll never understand fans celebrating completely meaningless wins at the end of one season that will have negative repercussions the next year... and beyond.

Surely this is not a real question. A win/loss over Seattle last year does not guarantee that we get Watson. I'll never understand how a fan of a team can root for a loss when that loss has a negative impact on the players and their fans, today. I mean if what you're saying is true Cleveland must have the most talented roster in the league, cuz they damn sure don't win any "meaningless" games, hell they don't win any games. I'll take a win today over a "what if" any day of the week. Now if your question would have been would you rather have the 10 pick next year or the ninth pick next year verses a win or loss over Seattle, then I'll obviously take the win and the 10 pick. A better question is would you take a win over Seattle last year, not draft Riddick, and next years first round pick for Watson? Because again I'll take the win. There are no negative repercussions with winning games. IMO

We'll never know how things shake out if we had lost that game. I do know that I've watched the 4th quarter of that game on my DVR about a dozen times and gotten a ton of enjoyment reliving that Christmas Eve and seeing the look on Wilson and Carroll's faces when that extra point sailed wide on the Seahawks final TD.

No problem starting Stanton - depleted offense and lots of mistakes will be made by the younger players - best to have Stanton, who knows the offense well, to QB over Gabbert. Gabbert did well enough, and poorly enough, to put a price tag on his return as a backup, plus win (and lose) a few games for us.
