This sounds low when you consider what Smith and other non pro bowl players are getting. In 2007 Troy Polamalu signed a 4 year extension for $30M so in todays dollars ADub should get more than $7M per year.

Ed Reed's 2006 deal was for 7 years $55M w/$18.M in bonus $$.

Sorry but in today's dollars it should be significantly less. Perhaps player's salaries are not impacted by the recession. Everyone else is.

Be great if true. Sounds a little cheap in terms of market value, but not by much imo. If he wants to give us a hometown discount, a 4/28 deal would seem about right (1 mil less per roughly). He hasn't been complaining but did indicate he wanted a new deal. Get it done.

Polamalu signed a 5 year 33 mill deal. Reed signed a 6 year 44.4 mill deal.

7 sounds exactly right to me. But what would are gauranteed portion be, thats the question.

Most of the players who have become free agents this year are nice role players, but none of them, even my favorite Cardinal Berry, are key franchise players. (this is under the assumption we are trying to get Warner back as well - or at least waiting him out a bit). Wilson is, and he's entering the last year of a deal. I'd be thrilled to see this get done. It would make me happier than any returning free agent, including Warner. (I guess I have some faith in Leinart - he outplayed Cassel remember)

I believe he wanted a new deal last year. Im glad hes getting it, but i wouldve preferred if they had taken care of the players who are in danger of leaving in the near future.

Regardless, A-Dub being a Card for 4 more years is always good to hear!

Adrian Wilson is without a doubt the most LOYAL player this organization has. And maybe by judging the effects when he is not there the most important player on the field.

No one deserves to be redone before him. Period.

This is actually smart of the Cardinals FO. If you are going to re-do Q you better take care of the other "core" players who come up before him.

Sign Wilson and Dansby to extension and I will be VERY happy.
Yeah that. I loved Wilson crying after the Cards won the NFC Championship game. That solidified him as my favorite Cardinal on the roster. I would love to see Wilson retire as a lifelong Cardinal and win a ring or two, or three here....

Please get this done ASAP... why only 4? Why not 5 years? Otherwise we will have to address it again in 3 years.

Yeah, make a back loaded deal so we can cut after 4-5 years when he gets there age wise... but it would be nice to lock him up until he retires.

To have Wilson retire as a Cardinal would be amazing. I was stunned when the Cardinals won the NFC championship after all the years of losing and did not know how to react and when I saw Wilson break down crying...he became my favorite Cardinal by his emotions and his growth into a Pro-Bowl Strong Safety

I would keep Wilson at SS, and when he gets there "age wise", I would still keep him and let him play OLB in passing situations.

The guys is LISTED at 230 lbs anyway.

Jeeez.....230 lbs SS, no wonder he hits so hard.

is'nt this complete speculation by Roto World? They're linking to an article that simply says the Cardinals are "ready to open talks" with Wilson. The orginal article has no mention of contract numbers and no talks of what either side are looking for or expect.

Yes. Might be total nonsense.
