I've been going this on the other board for years so I thought I'd brimg my act here. Hope you all don't mind:

This team is pathetic. This team has no heart. No soul. No guts. This team is not worthy of a playoff spot. The offense sucks and the defense quits when it matters most. And worst of all, is the coaching staff. Every last one of them. We just lost a game where we had a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter and to a team that was in such disarray that it was literally imploding in front of the entire league until they played the tonic that is the Arizona Cardinals. I'm going to keep this short and sweet:

The Good

LSH-Another good job by him.

Rhodes-The only defender with any heart and he can't do it alone. Sadly, his failure to secure the ball, in the end, cost us this game.

The Bad

I'm not even going to bother.

The Ugly

Snatching Defeat From The Jaws Of Victory-2nd week in a row a game we should have won, we give up rather easily.

No Heart-We had this team buried. Especially after a stopping them with a great goal line stand. But nope, we let them march down field 2 straight drives after to tie then win the game.

507 yards given up-You read that right including 446 yards to Favre who wouldn't move the ball for 3 quarters.

Offensive Line-Minny had 6 sacks all season. They got 6 today. And Brandon Keith needs to be cut tomorrow.

Coaching-This coaching staff couldn't motivate a starving man to eat.

That's it. This season is over. You kool aid drinkers keep at it though. Hopefully one day you'll see what the rest of us see.

I may be jumping the gun but here's my offseason plan:

Sign:
OT Marcus McNeill
OT Jared Gaither
QB Michael Vick
CB Richard Marshall

Draft:
OLB Von Miller
ILB Casey Matthews
CB Rashad Carmichael
TE Lance Kendricks
OLB Kenny Rowe
ILB Bruce Miller
OT Derek Newton

We need help everywhere thus I have a little bit of everything listed. Vick haters sorry but this guy is tearing it up in PHI and actually may be re-signed making Kolb expendable.

No mention of Joey Porter? He played like a man possessed yesterday with constant pressure and forced the Brett Favre INT to Rashad Johnson.

The defense did not quit, I think we just need to accept that the secondary is not very good and Billy Davis is terrible at scheming...Brett Favre was exploiting the D all game long, he just played with more consistency towards the end. I mean every good QB the Cards have played this season minus Drew Brees has been dominant.

Cool. Welcome. Nice to see another Cardinals fan in a 20 mile radius!

While a loss, that we a heck of an exciting game !

A lot of unsurprising, surprises in this game from the Cardinals. They had it but got Farve'd and D.A.'d.

Farve pulled his magic, while DA choked.

As fans we can't have it both ways. Last week, we complained when DA threw a pick when we were within FG range og tying the game. We should have run the ball (most fans said). And now when we had a chance (up 21-10) to put the game away we decided to forego the pass, and ran it a couple of times and took the FG. Why didn't we pass (same fans)? Bottom line, don't blame the coach, we just have a QB who is not VG. Yesterday, we decided to put the game in the hands of the defense. It didn't work, but it was probably the right call.

It depends on the situation really. Last week, we had momentum and were driving. We were within FG range and were facing the 31st ranked team(at the time) in rushing defense and yet it was pass, pass, pass, INT. This week, we needed first downs but worse yet, I don't recall one pass play that was a quick out or quick slant. The Vikes did it effectively and we didn't do it at all. Every pass play was the same; 3 or 5 step drop, look, look, look, nothing instead of snap, pass. Every pass we threw was 5 yards or more.

:yeahthat:

Whiz is trying to call a game which plays to DA's strengths and avoids his weaknesses. This is not a discussion about how Whiz screwed up in starting DA and cutting ML or whatever, this is a discussion about his ability to call plays.

I thought before the season started that this was a rebuilding year for the Cardinals. The close losses hurt, but this team is very average in so many areas and when you lose three solid performers in Kurt, Q, and Karlos you will take a hit. None of their replacements can hold their jocks in my opinion.

The coaching isn't the only reason for the Cardinals' success over the last three seasons. It has helped immensely having a HOF quarterback, a pro-bowl receiver, and an above-average 3-down linebacker on the team. You can't take that kind of a personnel hit and expect the same results.

I agree with a lot of this. The Packers first year without Farve they went
6-10 IIRC and that was with Rogers who was playing very well.

Duckjake has made numerous posts about how this much turnover of a roster has a negative effect. We lost a lot of players via FA and retirement who were on the team for 5 + years.

The scary thing is that we don't appear to have our QBF, our pass rushers are old and not very good, and we could have a ton more turnover with how many FA's we will have next year or the year after.

The good news is we are a "Clay Matthews" away from winning games like yesterday. So I agree with Buckybird and say do whatever it takes to get a pass rusher or two on this team. I would prefer them to be on the right side of 30 years old.

I know people will focus on the if Rhodes doesn't fumble we get a TD or at least a FG thing and it's true. I will say in his defense that wasn't hotdogging or failing to hustle, he cut back to his right and in weaving through traffic he lost his footing. IN hindsight the best thing for us would have been if he fell down there, but he kept his balance and because he slowed so much when he stumbled, Camarillo caught him and poked the ball out. Crushing play.

I would add to me there were so many "that was huge" plays late in the game but one that really sticks is the 3rd and 9 pass to Hightower that he dropped. I know it wasn't perfect, a bit low, but DA is throwing out of his endzone trying to be safe, and he makes a very catchable throw of a swingpass over the defender that hits Hightower in stride. You can't see the whole field on tv but it looked like they were expecting a run and had everyone up, as far as we could see there was no safety.

If Tim catches that ball he either scores or gets a huge gain. But he dropped it and we had to punt out of our endzone.

Those are the plays that killed us all day. If AW doesn't miss the tackle on the short pass to Harvin early their first drive never gets started. If AW doesn't keep blitzing when it's blatantly obvious it's a screen maybe Peterson doesn't get nearly 40 yards on the screen. If Wilson doesn't drop the INT in the endzone. If Campbell can get Favre down on a couple of those near misses etc. There were so many what ifs, it probably seems like I'm picking on Wilson but he had a particularly bad day because the Vikings put a big target on his back and burned him all day.

If all we need is Clay Matthews forget about the draft or FA, just find a good "doctor" who can prescribe the right "supplements".

:nono:

He does have a gene pool that includes two potential HOF's.
