The kid isn't a criminal, he smoked pot and got caught and punished for it.
How many here have smoked pot? I have, the laws are archaic!

We just got a hell of a football player that is surrounded by what he considers to be family and he has a chip on his shoulder.

I like it!

I can understand the mental side of it. I'm more concerned with his skills eroding from not playing or practicing or even rehabbing while being around the team for a year.

Anyone know of other players who missed an entire year like this and came back to the same level they were before?

As others have said though Arizona seems to be the perfect place for TM to make it work.

I think there are plenty of guys that missed a year of playing college football due to injury and gone on to have decent pro careers. Anquan Boldin comes to mind.

This will take some getting used to, Whiz's idea of a player restricted us from these types of players. I don't see him getting into trouble with the smoke, I think that's lesson learned. I gotta go down to Nawlins and get my bayou talk back up. All these southern gentlemen running around on our defense and I like it.

Antonio Cromartie was out an entire year before SD drafted him too, right? I can't remember but I thought that was the case.

They just said on NFL Network that Tyrann was drafted as a FS.

I hope it works out. I am rooting for the kid. Also IIRC I think it was Ray Horton who said you can't have too many CB's.

Arians apparently told someone on NFLN that he would start at FS.

I will say it again..... "Charles Woodson Role".

I knew he would be a Marshall type FS.

When I was around his age I was stoned almost every day. It ended up costing me a college scholarship, too (academic, though). I wised up and decided it wasn't worth it and quit. That was 33 drug free years ago for me. I believe a person can change.

FYI, I don't say this as an anti-weed message; I'm not really opposed to it and would vote to make it legal. In my case I just abused it, and for Tyrann, it is just something he can't do if he wants to play football.

I have some doubts about this pick. First the height issue, did someone say he is only 5 8 like Michael Adams? And why do we need Patrick Peterson to baby him, we need players without any issues; there are plenty of them out there. And one thing that really underwhelmed me was only 4 bench press reps. That is poor for any NFL player, especially one that has all year to prepare. I actually did 4 reps at 225 in the gym the other day and I am 5 7 and less than 150 pounds. I can hardly believe that I benched the same as the Cards 3rd round draft choice. Sorry but I'm completely unimpressed.

Yup, his last chance starts now. I don't think he will Ricky Williams it up with all them cats in the lockeroom keeping it birdgang, this aint college this is for money, and with losing millions of dollars already I hope he does have the sense to not get stupid. I, as a resident hippie, am still wondering about the medical cards being issued in states like Arizona and how these new laws will ultimately affect the NFL's policies when it comes to the stanky stank. The sweet sticky. Like that cop on Dukes of Hazzard used to say...Kush kush kush. :D

I wonder what the options are for him in the read option game.

His instincts will help us reading the run versus the keep. I think.

Plus, I can't wait to see how many fumbles he causes on those intermediate throws over the middle to Austin, Harvin, & Davis.

I really do hope he can turn into the flexible hawk who can be deployed tactically all over the defense.

These same off the field concerns were said about that Jenoris Jenkins kid that St Louis picked last year and I remember him torching us for a couple of returns and had a nice season for the Rams.

Kurt Warner loved the day we had. ONly had one team to pick as having the best day and picked us. LOVED the Mathieu pick.

A calculated risk that hopefully pays off. I am happy that we are an organization willing to take this shot.

But an injury is different. The kid is still involved with the team and working in a football environment while rehabbing right? I'm talking about a kid who was totally removed for a year.

But I guess my concern does come more from injury based on the sub par results we've received from Schofield and Ryan Williams. It's easy to get gun shy when you are a Cardinals fan.

I just hope he doesn't get so stoned that he can't find his play book.

You know the reason the NFL suspends guys for smoking dope is that the owners can't afford to feed them. Imagine some guy 6'3" 240-250 with the munchies!!!!!!!!!!

There is already a strain called "honeybadger", I hear it's pretty hard to get since it's clone only.

My ONLY concern with this pick comes right out of his own mouth. According to him he smoked TONS of weed and was addicted to it. Couldn't get by without it. I think that raises a chance of a relapse more than a casual user who can walk away from it.

I really hope it's behind him.
