Ken. for you to say that the '97 draft was the worst ever, tells me you either don't know much Cardinal history or you have a very closed mind.

You see, this is where the board gets really really lame.
You asked for agreement or disagreement, then you confront Ken with only two (condesceding and uncalled for) choices for his opinion.

Personally, I think if you put up;

Eric Swann
Aeneas Williams
Eric Hill
Tim McDonald
Louis Sharpe

Up against;

Ottis Anderson
Conrad Dobler
Jetstream Green
Dierdorf
Larry Wilson

Then certainly one could argue that it is YOU, Tango, that doesn't know your arse from a hole in the ground.

Have a nice day. I'll be in my office should you have any questions.

1 - Eric Swann - 1991
2 - Aeneas Williams - 1991 (3rd round)
3 - Eric Hill - 1989
4 - Tim McDonald - 1987
5 - Louis Sharpe - 1982

I'm confused... as usual.

Honest to god, if your opinion is the only one that's right, then why ask the question? Just make a post and say "These are the best picks, period".

Anyone who takes Eric Hill, Luis Sharpe, and Tim McDonald over two hall of famers, our all-time leading rusher, and our most dangerous Receiver in the last 30 years does not know their ass from a hole in the ground.

Eric Hill vs Larry Wilson. HMMM, THAT'S A TOUGH CALL

Don`t forget that Larry Wilson was drafted as a RB.How come nobody mentioned Neil Lomax? He was one of the better QB`s the Cards have had along with Jim Hart,Charley Johnson.

I think the best picks are the "finds" in the later rounds. A guy like Roy Green or Tom Banks is a better pick than someone like Lomax, who everyone expected to be a star.

Ed, just exactly WTF is your problem???
It appears that you and a couple of other are more interested in riding my ass than having any decent discussion.

First of all.......Go back and read my initial post, from your comments it certainly seems you didn't pay a whole lot of attention to what I actually said, AND any later comments.
First of all I stated very clearly before I even listed my five picks that they were based ONLY on referring back to my personal records which only go back to 1982.

Point #2.....I added a couple of what I termed "tidbits" after I posed the question about agreeing or disagreeing with my picks.
Ken made a reply in regard to my comment about the 97-98 draft...I responded to that....and that only with him.

VC (cheesebeef) then jumped in, in regard to that "tidbit" and started jacking his jaws about how ****** up my take on some of those guys, most particularly Tom Knight was.
As I told him. I was not trying to be a Tom Knight apologist. My only initial statement was I didn't consider '97 the worst draft ever. I stand by that. Again VC seemed bent on getting in an argument about that. I had no desire to. It was just a "tidbit" that I had personally found interesting. Nothing more than that.

Yet like I say, a couple of you seem more intent on focusing on putting words in my mouth and hurling your insults.

I never once.....not once..... criticised any one else's picks or denegrated them in any way shape or form. GO BACK AND RE READ THE FRICKIN POSTS!!!!!!

I never became a Card fan until they came to Phoenix. I have a limited knowledge of them prior to that. I try and constantly learn more history, one of the ways I do that is by starting threads like this, so I can hear more input from people who were fans prior to that, and do have first hand knowledge to be passed along.

So get off my case. You and Cheesy are getting beyond pathetic.

There's an old Indian saying around here: A skunk smells his own hole first. With all your wild accusations and put downs flying around.....you might well take heed to that!

Look at your title. "All time".

And before you go calling anyone pathetic, let's all recall how you nominated yourself for "most handsome board member", possibly in conjunction with the thread about being Jake Plummer's prom date.

Sometimes I think you are just plain "sick" Ed.

Obviously you are more interested in personal agenda's than actually talking football.

Exactly. Name a guy who ever played for this team who Tango doesn't think was terrific.

Tom Knight was absolutely useless. Let me dust off my 2001 game tape against Oakland and watch him get run down by 38 year old Rich Gannon on an interception return.

If you don't ride the high horse, people won't try to knock you off it. Your condescension (never based on fact, just on your never-ending optimism) makes you the target. If you don't want to be criticized, stop being such a raging prick to everyone.

Michael Stone for the 2003 pro bowl.

Section 11,
Again you do just like Ed.
I already stated in my earlier post that Ken and I had a disagreement in regards to that '97 comment.

You guys keep wanting try to paint me in some kind of corner.
I disagreed with Ken on....as I said before....that issue only.
Nothing was ever said one way or the other in regard to who the top 5 picks were and whether there was any agreement or not.
And even in the passage you just quoted....I simply said what I felt...and I stand by that. Ken and I have had no further problem, in my view anyway.

What IS with you guys anyway?

Where is the need to slam Ken like that? It was uncalled for, and you won't own up to it.

Do you not see how that could come across as an insult, out of the blue?

It's amazing, the capacity some people have to walk into a room, be the complete jerk, and blame it on everyone else.
