A) Bad mouthing McFadden and saying he won't even start over Hood

B) Saying the Cardinals are the Steelers of the West and need to stop stealing all of their players.

Pretty funny some of the stuff they say. I always LOL when a good player leaves the team. If he stays, everyone goes "Yes! Good thing we locked him up. A great CB" but if he leaves "We don't want him anyway. We have Gay for 1/6 the value and he is better anyway."

Not really sure how the uncapped 2010 year works but if he is lights out in 09 can't we front load a 4-5 year extension next year and pay him another modest bonus to be spread over the life of the contract and a huge 2010 salary which in essence becomes guaranteed and then back off the pay in the remaining years?

An excellent signing. The defensive backfield is going to be much tougher than in the past. No reason to use our top three picks on a cb and can address other needs like RB, DE/LB and C.

He can be overly aggressive at times going for the big play and will sometimes bite on double moves, although he has improved in this area.

Hood bit on double moves a lot. I have even heard opposing players comment on trying to get Hood on a double move because they've seen him bite on them in film study.

I think Rolle doesn't have the hips to play corner. You know when you have to flip your hips to keep up with a receiver after a move. Rolle seems fairly effective as long as everything is in a straight line. When you have to change directions he seems to get lost.

what i meant to say, Dayman, with positively no malice towards anyone was that the fo is always deliberate, sometimes in my opinion to a fault. they need to sign wright from the Patriots, we need him.

I understand. I also agree about Wright. It wouldn't hurt to have another vet DE to help Campbell and Iwebema.

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic quotes Bryant McFadden's agent as saying a broken forearm prevented the cornerback from commanding $8 million per season on a long-term deal. The Cardinals landed McFadden for two years and $10 million. Somers: "McFadden's first-year salary of $3.75 million is guaranteed, and he receives a $1 million roster bonus and $250,000 workout bonus. The $5 million salary for the second year is not guaranteed."

After the signing of McFadden was announced it made me remember a story on ESPN that ranked the 106 players in the Super Bowl. (Just this Super Bowl obviously not Super Bowl History).

Here was their take:
30. CB Bryant McFadden -- Steelers

He is effective in press- or off-coverage and might be at his best playing in a Cover 2 system. McFadden has solid upside to be a front-line starter in the NFL.

43. CB Roderick Hood -- Cardinals

He is the starting left corner but only has adequate speed and size (5-11, 198). He is best suited as a backup player in sub package. He also can play on special teams.
