I wonder if Monti/Gannon might try to trade Simmons rather than find a role for him.
He's a top 10 pick. He hasn't shown the instincts to play LB. We are set at safety. I can see the connundrum it would be for any coach. Would you rather have this super athletic guy that you have to try shoehorn in to a role, possibly only in sub packages, who is going into year 4. Or do you try get something back for him now that you can put towards a "rebuild"?
Or does Gannon see a guy he can make a star with the right coaching? I'm dubious personally. I know Simmons has had some poor coaching but at the same time the instincts are clearly missing.

Hope I'm wrong but got a bad feeling about the hire. Just seems like Bidwill settled for a HC that was " WILLING " to coach the team rather than someone that " WANTED " to coach the team. Most of the other HC candidates seem to have backed out or just flat said No to the job.

I mean, as mentioned in that article, the Cardinals were taking too long for his liking. Not our problem. I find it easily likely that the "gut feeling" was that he wasn't going to get the job and Ossenfort was jockeying for Gannon all along.

Pretty sure he means 2021 when Kliff was early coach of the year favorite and Kyler was early MVP favorite
